last movie you watched

After all the talk about Glengarry Glen Ross in another thread I pulled it out and watched it. There is so much swearing in it that the actors started calling it "Death Of A f***ing Salesman". It. Is. Incredible. If you can take the language you will never regret seeing such incredible performances by all the lead actors (Al Pacino, Kevin Spacey, Jack Lemon, Ed Harris, Alan Arkin). Even the minor characters are done well. Alex Baldwin is in for just a few minutes and leaves an indelible impression.

I would add the movie poster, but Photobucket is acting like a giant penis tonight.

Was the Green Hornet always this crap, or is it just this film? In this he comes over like some kind of lame blues brother...

Harry brown is excellent, gritty and realistic.

'you failed to maintain your weapon, son'

That was a good scene with the two zonked out dealers, they were convincing. I liked how Harry cheerfully told one of his marine stories to the guy as we was dying...

spoiler for 'harry brown' below

treeduck meant to tickle your brain on the film harry brown.

At the end when sids about to shoot harry, do you think harry really wanted to die or, was he calling sids bluff, knowing the snipers would get him before any reaction...Maybe a bit of both?

Whats your opinion?

Mulling over this and a few other moments in this movie.

This film leaves a major impression - brilliant

I didn't know Andy Kaufman was Willy Wonka. Always thought that was Gene Wilder for some reason. Weird.

Well I think by that point he didn't care because he knew his revenge was complete but I think he also knew the snipers would get him if he made a move. Maybe a bit of both then.

Poor, low quality production, daft, far fetched, cartoonish with a ridiculously dull plot, VERY hot women though.

Very intriguing, mysterious, decent acting, but kind of infuriating, a tease with a weak pay-off, watchable but ultimately unsatisfying.

Boring, I kept falling asleep, it really was hard work staying awake. Typical made for TV fodder with no atmosphere, a weak plot, insipid incidental piano music, an annoying Tim Daly. Even Zoe Saldana couldn't brighten this one up.

yep, just thought as harry asked again with more vigour, after seeing the gun sights.

Class acting i love the part in the interrogation scene where mr caine, asked so softly but with such conviction 'now listen'

The whole cast were superb.

Also the subway scene the way harry subverts the stronghold the youths have, taken it back on to their terms, making it for once a fearful place for them.

Love this film, captures the state of places in the uk at this time, eerily well.

There is very little here that I didn't already know, but it is very very good. There is a sadness to it that breaks the heart and all these years later the band members are still affected by the tragedy of Syd Barrett.
