Peter Sellers being a genius again. Shirley MacLaine masturbating while Sellers watches aerobics on tv. Funny when it was supposed to be. Dramatic when it was supposed to be. Somehow Sellers is pulling off both genres simultaneously in every scene. This is more about performance than a great story but I'm okay with that here.

Don't know if Sellers won any awards for this flick (too lazy to look it up) but he was good enough to have.

Grade: B

This was on TV while I was having my dinner and I ended up watching it all. It's better than you might think it would be. I like the atmosphere and the isolated setting in the storm. Morgan Freeman and Randy Quaid rule the film.

I'm sure I saw that in the cinema about 20 years ago(?) but I don't remember a thing about it.

Great movie!

I think I've set Sellers on too high a standard for all of his past great films because for nearly every other actor it would've been an "A" grade movie.

it's worth a look if you're in the mood for a rain-sodden action flick set at night in an isolated town cut off from civilization by a raging storm. Morgan Freeman plays the leader of a bunch of criminals looking to rob an armoured van, but the storm and the flood get in the way, along with rookie cop Christian Slater and a bunch of crooked sheriff's deputies led by Randy Quaid.

That might be the last Slater movie I've seen...and, as I said, I don't even remember it. Pretty sure I haven't seen anything by him this century.

This is an acting tour de force. Sellers is truly brilliant in this!

He won a Golden Globe. Dustin Hoffman got the Oscar for Kramer v, Kramer. I remember pulling for Roy Scheider to win it for All That Jazz.

Well, that's because it's more than just cute. It's good.

Yeah I agree. I've seen it maybe 3 times so far and it's always enjoyable.

Yeah, I've probably seen it 3-5 times myself.

Pretty cool Alien reference with Sigourney Weaver doing the voice of the Axiom computer and saying that line "You realize you get to be MOTHER now?"

Must've seen this over half a dozen times. Alan Arkin is pure comedy but everyone does well in this. Thoughtful movie with the perfect amount of tenderness too.

Grade: A+

I need to watch this again.

This movie doesn't seem that old to me but Olive has already grown up:

I think she deserves a bigger career.

I've only seen her in this and Zombieland. In Zombieland I can't take anyone seriously and forget she was even in it without thinking about it. But just based on Little Miss, I'd agree with you.

I haven't seen any previews or read any reviews but I'd like to see that flick "Maggie" that she did with AHNold.

I thought everyone was excellent in Zombieland, but I agree about it being hard to take anyone seriously (except for Woody, I love that dude in everything I have ever seen him in).

She may yet prove to be a huge star!
