Segue Myles
Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest LOVED THIS SOOOO MUCH! Actually enjoyed this more than the first. It may be longer, but this actually felt a lot shorter. Now...At World's End. Regardless of plot, I look forward to the special effects.

An anti-discrimination, pro-civil rights musical, with the original Broadway hit actually written in the late forties. Bold stuff in its day.

treeduck
I started watching... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/4/41/Noah2014Poster.jpg ...but I could only get through the first half an hour. It was like the Muppet's Go to Noah's Ark starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connolly and the Rock Monsters! A joke of a film! :rfl:

Blockbuster action that isn't dumbed down for the Kartrashian generation. Michael Bay wishes he had 1/100th the storytelling skills Del Toro has.
Babycat
http://i.imgur.com/rJD4KQD.jpg http://i.imgur.com/hdMYV6f.jpg I had to watch these original Robocop films to get the bad taste out of my mouth after seeing the shockingly abysmal reboot from earlier this year. There's no way they should have messed with this franchise, the original entry is excellent with a great script that is funny and entertaining and the story makes sense and progresses logically. The action is satisfying, and scene by scene this film does what you want it to, it kicks fuckking ass. The actors in this are superb, guys like Peter Weller, Ronny Cox, Kurtwood Smith, Miguel Ferrer, Ray Wise and Dan O'Herlihy. These guys aren't overpaid superstars who whore themselves out for a pathetic cameo role and then give a shitty phone-it-in performance like Michael Keaton and Samuel L Jackson did with the reboot. The original cast were just jobbing actors who delivered the goods and did their what they were supposed to do for the good of the film and the end result was that they created a classic and added something worthwhile to their acting resume at the same time. The sequel is good too. The only thing I found bad about the reboot were Michael Keaton and Samuel L Jackson's performances. :o On the plus side: Hocus Pocus Focus. :D The only other thing about the original franchise I didn't like so much was the third one: the jet-propelled rocket back pack! I'll buy that for a dollar! You'd buy the jet-propelled rocket back pack for a dollar? If you watch Robocop, the saying "I'll buy that for a dollar" crops up about 3 or 4 times throughout the movie.I think I must've missed that. Babycat
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fa/Wicker-man-poster.jpg You gotta see this on Rifftrax to appreciate how hilariously awful this movie is and how unintentionally funny it is. "Step away from the bike!" :rfl: Actually I think this could have been a good movie if it wasn´t for such a poor performance by Nic Cage...the photography is great, the story still holds up, but he pretty much ruins everything with the over-the-top delivey. "Howd´it get burn...howd´it get burn!?!!?"Watch the original now with Edward "The Original Equalizer" Woodward, Christopher Lee, and Britt Ekland. The original is by far the best version. treeduck
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/7/77/Dawn_of_the_Planet_of_the_Apes.jpg This was ok but it seemed more like the pilot for a TV show to me than a major feature film. It reminded me of that show Jericho only with apes. And when I think back to the original 1968 movie, that was something you remember your whole life with dialogue that entered the English lexicon but I doubt I'll remember anything from this film in a matter of days never mind decades. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/10/Godzilla_%282014%29_poster.jpg I found this very slow, it took more than an hour to get going and by then the best actor in the cast, Bryan Cranston, who plays the most interesting character was already out of it and well before the action even starts. And talking of action you really hardly get any good action in this, it's like they cut out all the good stuff and put it in the trailer and forgot to put it back in the film. Every time the monsters clash they cut away to something else like troops flying in an aircraft or David Strathairn in fatigues, it's like they want to hide Godzilla, save him for a sequel maybe? Pacific Rim has more satisfying stuff in it's first 5 minutes than the whole 2 hours of this drab film. And it looks drab too, too grey and dark. Overall this was very disappointing.
