I think these are what's called B-movies (apart from the last two). Any good?

Edit to add: forgot additional brackets. :)

The Nest was terrible, a load of shite! The actors were ok it was the film makers and script that sucked.

The Prowler was crap too, borrrring and predictable, I dunno how I made it to the end, I think I just wanted to find out who the prowler was behind his mask. When I found out though it was a case of :eyeroll: :eh:

The Penthouse one wasn't bad, just a bit obvious and routine. Michael Keaton was good value.

Killer Klowns was ok, stupid but then you expect that with a title like that. John Vernon scores here as a grouchy cop.

Red Dawn was decent but they failed to make it convincing, it just didn't come over like America had really been invaded by Russkies, it was too small scale. It was more like the Russians had invaded Arizona or wherever or maybe just one town. There wasn't much character development either, a few scenes here and there otherwise you got no sense that Patrick Swayze, Charlie Sheen and Powers Boothe were even in the film, like they were all just random actors. The whole thing came over like a disjointed mini-series that was trying to pull off too big a story for it's own budget.

Wasn't John Vernon from Animal House, as in the Principle?

Re those movies - guess you wish you hadn't seen them... :P

Yes and he was the Mayor in "Dirty Harry", Fletcher in "The Outlaw Jose Wales", Boyle in "Charlie Varrick", the Warden in "Chained Heat", Mal Reese with Lee Marvin in "Point Blank", Mr Prindle in "Herbie Goes Bananas", Mr Big in "I'm Gonna Git you Sucka", DeSoto in "Royal Hunt of the Sun", Sherman Krader in "Ernest Goes to Camp" McKee with Michael Caine in "The Black Windmill" and Rico Parra in Hitchcock's "Topaz".

Meanwhile his daughter is Kate Vernon who played Ellen in Battlestar Galactica.

I wish I hadn't seen a few of them yeah! :d13:

This is a pretty effective sci-fi horror film, with good scares aplenty and a decent level of suspense. There's a fistful of HP Lovecraft here in style, with a little bit of Alien and and a little of The Island of Dr Moreau. Some of the acting is a little bit wooden but on the other hand you have good turns from Kim Hunter and Rod Steiger who is kicking ass and taking names in this as an evil scientist obsessed with other people's secret experiments.

Yes she was hot, she was the main reason that kept me watching, her and Kelly Hu. There was a lot of decent people in it actually Michael Biehn, Tom Berenger, DB Sweeney, William Forsythe, Tom Sizemore, James Russo, plus a bevy of hot babes. The script was a joke but there was enough there to keep me watching.

Back to Stana, yeah she looked great, hot as f**k but in a kind of geeky way, like a librarian who scrubbed up like Penelope Cruz. She was totally unconvincing as an assassin but who cares when the script sucked balls anyway? They should have called this Soccer Mom Ninja, after each kill I couldn't help thinking she'd be picking up the kids from school and doing the shopping...

I think I started watching this film last year but quit near the beginning because it was shit! I must have had more patience this time.

Really enjoyed it. Mindless entertainment for sure, but it is such fun to just escape into fantasy. I have a 3D TV for the same reason. You just go in a while and let the world eat itself.

Yeah, I really enjoyed it too! Though I didn't see it in 3D, I was glad I saw it on the big screen. :)
