Gilbertk
Anyone else want them to pull out Garden Road on stage? I think it would be jammin' especially with 45 years of experience added. I doubt it will happen. They probably don't even remember it.. Who knows.. Years of wishing finally got Camera Eye, haha For those of you who have managed to miss this gem:
ColdFireYYZ
I wouldn't want to hear the whole song since there are so many other songs I'd like them to play but it might work as part of a medley of some sort.
danielmclark
Nope. A third of the members weren't in the band at the time, it was an early effort that doesn't hold up extremely well to the test of time, and I'd rather they focus on the stronger songs. It's good for what it was at the time, IMO.
RUSHHEAD666
Are you guys kidding me? I have never heard of this tune! IT FUCKKING KICKS ASS!!!!!!! I feel sorry for Rush fans who can't relate to the good old vintage ! The bass and guitar simply drive this song home baby! It's Neil's first gig right? I hope if Rush does some killer Box Set that this song is on it. They can put "Bad Boy" and "Not Fade Away" in that box as well! apetersvt
QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Oct 23 2011, 11:42 PM) IT FUCKKING KICKS ASS!!!!!!! What he said. I love the tune. It would be incredible if they could dig it back up for 2012. I'd rather hear this song live than any tune from Signals onward (there are songs Signals onward that I like better, but I've seen them live before). J2112YYZ
It's a good song but I wouldn't want them to play it. There are too many other songs in their catalog to choose from. Why should they do a song that nobody knows and was never released officially? This is my first time ever hearing this song to. So if there are long time loyal fans like me and Earl who have never heard this then why would they bother with it live?

USB Connector
No, the appeal of garden road is that it had Ged's raunchy voice which was filled with raw power. That Voice hasn't existed since Hemispheres.

danielmclark
Actually, I agree with the statement that they could not muster the energy or passion to perform Garden Road. Energy, maybe. They're not exactly being wheeled out on Hoverounds yet. But passion? If they liked the song, if they had any affinity or passion for it, they'd have played it once since 1973 or whenever the hell the last time was. Clearly, they have no passion for the song or else it would've been played sometime in the last 35 years. So, no. I don't think they could muster the passion to play the song. The setlist is 100% completely up to them, after all.
