I love Pink Floyd, and like some metal. I guess Floyd could have some metal qualities in their music. One Of These Days has a little metal edge to it. Some of The Wall could also be classified at metal.

My buddy kept playing the stuff and years later I couldn't help but appreciate Pink Floyd. I did like Gilmour's stuff, but resisted PK for years.

 

As for metal, I like the 80s stuff the best. Dream Theater and Pantera likely are the only ones I prefer past the 80s..

I love Pink Floyd and I love SOME metal - Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Kiss, Uriah Heep, High Tide, Rainbow, Dio, some odds and ends. Not all of that is pure metal. I mostly like some classic rock metal and NWOBHM. I like a little prog metal. Metal was my first love, but I've fallen a good bit off the metal wagon. I like myself some metal heaviness from time to time, as long as it's intelligently done.

I love Floyd and some (good) metal. Floyd definitely had their metal moments like In The Flesh, Nile Song, One of These Days, Careful With That Axe Eugene, Astronomy Domine. Animals is as heavy as any metal of the era. The last option made me smile.
