Album Lyrics

My apologies if this topic has been done before but I'm wondering which album do you feel has the lyrics that have touched/influenced you the most? I'll start it off with Permanent Waves. Every song on this album has incredible lyrics except for Jacob's Ladder (although the last two lines are incredible).

Um.. gosh...

I really liked HYF in terms of lyrics.

Counterparts was very good too; less hit and miss than the former.

any number of bob dylan albums

But cutting it down to Five? Chronologically:

  • Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
  • Bringing it all Back Home
  • Blonde on Blonde
  • Desire
  • Time Out of Mind

Even cutting it down to 5 would be a task. I love RUSH and they'll probably always be my favorite band but I think Peart would easily admit that his best lyrics don't touch Dylan's. (Yeah, I know it's not a competition. Just sayin').
