Citizen of the World
My apologies if this topic has been done before but I'm wondering which album do you feel has the lyrics that have touched/influenced you the most? I'll start it off with Permanent Waves. Every song on this album has incredible lyrics except for Jacob's Ladder (although the last two lines are incredible). Tommy Sawyer
Presto is very good. Probably my fav. GUP would probably be next. Hemispheres has some good lyrics too. I love some of TFE's, too. And 2112 get honorary mention for having a kick-butt A-side story.
HowItIs
Shouldn't this be in the Rush subforum? Hold Your Fire for me. Or Counterparts.

CMWriter
Um.. gosh... I really liked HYF in terms of lyrics. Counterparts was very good too; less hit and miss than the former. Edited August 22, 2011 by CMWriter

JohnnyBlaze
QUOTE (Kenneth @ Aug 22 2011, 02:59 PM) QUOTE (JohnnyBlaze @ Aug 21 2011, 09:16 PM) any number of bob dylan albums But cutting it down to Five? Chronologically: Freewheelin' Bob DylanBringing it all Back HomeBlonde on BlondeDesireTime Out of Mind Even cutting it down to 5 would be a task. I love RUSH and they'll probably always be my favorite band but I think Peart would easily admit that his best lyrics don't touch Dylan's. (Yeah, I know it's not a competition. Just sayin').
