This is all brilliant, but from about 7:30 to 7:45 I get chills every time.

And the solos here are mind (and string) bending. Love the windmill around 4:40!

This whole song rips.

Out of left field a bit here, but Im going to say the ending guitar solo on Boston's "Hitch a Ride." Beautiful, tasteful, tuneful playing with amazing tone by the great Tom Scholz.

Yes covered Paul Simon's AMERICA, one of my fave Howe leads

I truly think the No. 1 greatest guitar solo in history is in Stairway To Heaven. Every note is sublime.

I would rate the next top 9 as follows:

2. Comfortably Numb

3. Limelight

4. Freebird

5. Hotel California

6. Voodoo Child

7. Texas Flood

8. Since I've Been Lovin' You

9. Cliffs Of Dover

10. Eruption

This is a tough one, there are so many great solos. Picking one at random from this large pool of awesome solos, it would probably have to be GnR's November Rain. The solo isn't virtuosic, but the emotion is conveys is so powerful (like Lifeson's Limelight solo). I love it.

I would say Stairway to Heaven, too, but I don't want to seem cliche.

Then I'll say it...simply magnificent! (Not to mention the many killer live versions) Along with most of the solos Page ever played.

Lots of great ones have been mentioned, in particular Made In Japan and just about anything else from Blackmore.

Peter Green - everything

Wishbone Ash - Argus (great solos throughout the entire album)

Pretty much any David Gilmour solo, but particularly Time and Take It Back.

Speaking of Gilmour-led Floyd solos, I think the opening solo from 'Coming Back to Life' is absolutely beautiful. Makes me cry a few times if I get really into it.

I dig both solos in Kid Charlemagne by Steely Dan. Larry Carlton is a master. yes.gif

Also, The Grateful Dead's rendition of 'Going Down The Road Feeling Bad' from 'Skull and Roses': Jerry's rip-roaring solo gets me in such a good mood every time I hear it. Pure class imbibed in every single note. So sad he's no longer with us.
