JohnnyBlaze
QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ May 3 2011, 02:25 PM) QUOTE (thesweetscience @ May 2 2011, 08:23 PM) QUOTE (KW84 @ May 2 2011, 07:54 PM) I would love to try sushi, but I'm afraid to because I heard that's it is served raw and because I have never had food poisoning. It looks good though. Some of it is raw and some isn't. If the fish is fresh it wont make you sick. If it isn't fresh you will know right away. I have been eating it for years and have never had a problem. Me neither. I have never gotten sick from sushi, and I can't say that about most fast food chains. Yeah, I've never had any upset stomach from sushi (but plenty of times from other stuff). Some places out here have a type of mechanical arm that regularly tosses out sushi that's been sitting on the conveyor belt too long. Also, I've been told that the main reason for eating ginger while eating sushi is to help counter the effects of a possible upset stomach (read as: NOT food poisoning, but rather, to aid in digestion)
Pags
QUOTE (ILSnwdog @ May 2 2011, 01:24 PM) Well...Do you do sushi? http://farm1.static.flickr.com/204/442805346_9d0ef42d2f.jpg I love it! Especially the salmon, tuna, and shrimp. OMG this picture alone is making my mouth water. I can't eat Sushi without making this happy yummy sound after I put it in my mouth. Sushi is the greatest!! iluvgeddy05
I love sushi but never have it. Hubs won't eat it and hard to find a lunch place around here that does it justice. Not to offend, but to me, California Rolls aren't really sushi. It's mostly fake crab meat, mayo, rice and avocado. There. I guess I am a sushi snob

Good, bad, andrush
QUOTE (pedro2112 @ May 3 2011, 11:31 PM) I can eat fistfulls of Wasabi at a time!
invisible airwave
I feel like a kid in a candy store when I eat at Sushi buffet restaurants like Todai. I'm addicted to eel sushi rolls lately. I stay away from wasabi though. As long as it's not wasabi or habenera I can handle most spices with a decent sized cold drink.
Lost In Xanadu
Met an ex-coworker for lunch and we hit a sushi place... $8 gets you 2 rolls, soup and a salad. Not sure if anyone gets the Kani Salad - but that is some damn good food. Worth the $2 upcharge at the place we went. Just for fun, I browsed their menu and this was one item that stood out to me. invisible airwave
They have $5 sushi rolls at my local Sprouts organic grocery store every Wednesday. :haz: Haven't gone lately so I can save money to buy Xmas presents with my work paychecks for my immediate family. Anyone ever tried or heard of a Boston roll? Never knew such a thing existed until a new sushi/boba place called iTaro opened in my city a few months ago. But I have an even better place right down the street from my house. I just got back from there about 20 minutes ago. I eat there 3 or 4 times a month. Great stuff! Generally not bad. Almost always shellfish and so cooked. Its a good roll to suggest for someone you are introducing to sushi who isn't sure about the raw stuff.
