ILSnwdog
I remember when I first discovered Calvin and Hobbs sophomore year of high school. C & H is by far the funniest comic strip ever!

micgtr71
I remember him getting into the toilet with Hobbes and flushing himself into a spinning frenzy while his mother shouted up as to whether or not he was taking a bath. I still think of that from time to time and laugh.

Mr. Not
Lio, though nowhere near as great as Calvin and Hobbes, is probably the best modern day replacement out there. It lacks dialougue, which for me is what makes C&H fantastic. But Lio comics are very creative, even more creative than C&H in ways. And of course, the creator likes to give C&H props constantly: http://www.lawrenceperson.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Corpses.jpg
