NewWorldMan1971
QUOTE (Snow-Dog2112 @ Nov 5 2010, 10:08 PM)QUOTE (NewWorldMan1971 @ Nov 5 2010, 09:49 PM) Just heard (mis-heard) another one earlier today, from "Beneath, Between, & Behind:" Should be: "Beneath the noble birth Between the proudest words Behind the beauty, cracks appear" I heard: "Beneath the noble birth Between the proudest words Behind the beauty, cracks a beer" i thought it was "beneath the nobile birds" until now My friend, you are right! It IS "Beneath the noble bird!" I mean, "birth?" that doesn't even make sense! Mis-quoting a misquote....that might be a first for me, at least that I know of! Majestyk
Nothing can top this. When I first heard Signal's The Weapon, I thought the line "But he was a lot more afraid of your lying" was "But he was a lot more afraid of your lion". CMWriter
QUOTE (Majestyk @ Nov 20 2010, 10:50 AM) Nothing can top this. When I first heard Signal's The Weapon, I thought the line "But he was a lot more afraid of your lying" was "But he was a lot more afraid of your lion". Omigosh, that was my first reaction too! I was like, "Huhwhat? Your lion?" Glad to see I'm not alone in mishearing that.

Good, bad, andrush
my dad's mexican, and he's a big rush fan. but when he lived in mexico back in the 80s with his friends, he told me that his friends always got the lyrics for Tom Sawyer wrong. They would say: His mind is not for rent to any dog or governor

timbo13
Back in 1983, my first exposure to Rush was from cassettes imported from Saudi Arabia. The lyrics printed in the covers were, we later found, somewhat less than accurate, but compellingly realistic nonetheless: "I strip away the old Capri and find a brand new car" was the pick of the bunch. Oh, and I always heard "revelate from the norm".
HowItIs
Okay, this thread is I honestly cannot think of lyrics I may have misheard because the actual lyrics are now replacing them. I thank obsession and complete-ism for that. PS. You might want to have a look in the LOL Rush thread....

GeddPratLerxst
QUOTE I always hear that, or "breathing smoke in Lebanon." "The sky is BITCHING violently..." The sky is pitching really does sound like bitching But another one for me is the beginning of FBN "Its time i was king and not just one more pawn." sounds a lot like "Its time i was king now i just f***ed my mom"..... InvisibleAirwaves13
QUOTE (Mara @ Nov 5 2010, 11:35 PM) I screwed up this line in "New World Man" for, oh, about 20 years: "He's a writer and arranger. . ." I thought it was: "He's a rider and a ranger. . ." Yep, that's the one for me...I went years before looking that up since it fits so well and also the part in Limelight... "with some fishing tack"! Man, I actually like the misheard parts lol.
