  1. I love The Division Bell. Its such a great album you can listen to from start to finish. AMLOR is alright. Its good but not GREAT in my opinion...I can only really listen to a couple of songs from the album and thats it.
  2. I'm 23 and a Rush fan and a big fan of classic rock in general. In my experience, I've had people complement my taste in music because I'm young and its not usually typical for young people to like classic rock or old music. Plus, in my family, we pretty much like all the same music together so I have a family of good music tastes . I think is awesome when a younger generation is into older music..makes me happy. But theres no such thing as being TOO young to like a band....thats just silly! I've liked The Beatles for as long as I can remember; ever since I was a little kid.
  3. I nearly teared up some looking through those pictures because I missed something truely wonderful...pretty much right in my backyard. I was sulking Friday when it came to be about 7:30 Anywho, those are great pictures! It looked like it was a fun time
  4. Someone didn't waist anytime with that! If it was two tickets and it wasn't so last minute, I would have jumped on that like nobodies business! In anycase, I'm sorry to hear about you dad and hope all is well and he gets better soon.
  5. I actually liked it more than my fiance did and I'm a girl! The music was great and the visuals were cool and from a woman stand point, yes the girls were hot. I heard that the movie was SUPPOSE to be R but they had to cut some things out to make it PG-13 and due to time constraints he had to cut somethings too so when the blu-ray/dvd comes out, hes going to put the stuff back in for a Directors Cut type thing. I can't wait for that.
  6. I was kind of funny about the show at first when I saw it because of the gruesome factor but now its one of my favorite cartoon shows. Never fails to make me laugh
  7. Everyone keeps saying how freakin popular the song is...but truth be told...the only reason its soo popular is because its SOOO BAD! The Deathcore version was epic !
  8. Geddy's voice, A certain persons guitar playing, I dont know...guitars just do something for me I suppose.
  9. I have NO idea whats going on...but for some reason I've been on some sort of Robert De Niro kick lately and in particular, him in 'Taxi Driver'. (Not sure how many of you have seen it but if you haven't, excellent movie!) http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b250/Moonie17/21701762_taxi_s2.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b250/Moonie17/3140450457_1628525beb.jpg http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b250/Moonie17/robert-de-niro-taxi-driver.jpg Definitely a good looking man back in the day..no doubt about that...

  12. QUOTE (rushforumnewuser @ Feb 20 2011, 08:22 PM) http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/xx202/farcrywoman/PaulinHelp.jpg Please forgive me if he previously appeared earlier in this thread. Here he is in his prime, as he looked in the movie 'Help'. This was the beach scene. Paul always will be my favorite Beatle, in every way. I"ve been a fan all my life so far and I remember when I was little (remind you im 23 )I always use to watch 'Help!' and 'A Hard Days Night' and I always thought Paul was the cutest but as I got older, I gravitated to George hehe

That is a very nice pic indeed I've seen this one before. That was fast, The Lost Xanadu. Oh, that one. Lovely. I think Lerxst is tempting me again. cygnus-x1.net is an awesome website. They're the source of most of my Rush pics. Ha! That was pretty fast As soon as she said where she saw it, I automatically thought "Ooo! Check Cygnus-X1!" and low behold, I found it! So lovely....

  16. QUOTE (IChoseFreeWill @ Feb 20 2011, 03:29 PM)My favorite Alex picture is the one from around 1976 or so where he looks like he is about to toss his hair. He looks very bish and pretty in that pic. That is just the kind of guy I like. Someone please post that pic! It is in black and white. I think it may have been part of a poster. Ok..Im really taking a wild guess at this but this picture came to mind when I read your description.... http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b250/Moonie17/lerxsty.jpg Is THIS it??
  17. QUOTE (summer_sky @ Feb 19 2011, 02:33 PM) 'Tom Sawyer' is currently on the rotation list in Harrisburg, PA Ha! I'm also from around that area But anyway, I've actually heard some stuff other than Tom Sawyer. Limelight, The Spirit of Radio, Closer to the Heart, Fly By Night and I actually heard Working Man once on some odd station but I have to agree, its been mostly Tom Sawyer
  18. I wonder where the hell Angus Young gets all that energy! Hes moving constantly all over the stage and it make my brain hurt . ....Though, I wouldn't mind having some of that energy myself...maybe at a lesser extreme
  19. QUOTE (HowItIs @ Feb 16 2011, 05:11 AM)I was perusing the Cygnus X-1 site, looking through the tour books (making sure I had all the good pics) and ran across this from the S&A Tour Book: http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/images/tourbooks/snakes-and-arrows-live-42x.jpghttp://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/images/tourbooks/snakes-and-arrows-6b.jpg Excerpt from an interview of Alex by Alex dated May 13, 2007. Let me begin by saying how lovely it is to see you. Yes, I know, and it's terrific to see you too. I dunno, but did you get a haircut or something because, wow! I trimmed my ears last week, maybe that? It makes a big difference. Yes. ... Um. Tell me, what goes on behind those eyes, deep in your brain, out the back of your head and down your leg, around the corner and so on? What? LOL... did I actually say LOL? I promised I'd never do that. No, it's okay, you just typed it. Tell us a little about how you prepare for one of your lively concerts, just the parts while you're awake. Well, it takes hours of intense thinking and questioning... yes, questioning why you're thinking so intensely so intensely. It's like a giant circular circle or a snake that's been man-made into a circle-like circle snake-but definitely not like a flying shark snake, which is usually on days off. From there it just gets intense. I see. Fascinating. As are your shoes! They are absolutely to die for. Prada? Pravda, actually. I bought them in Prague from a street vendor who was having a closing out sale on Soviet footwear. Placing the heel on the front of the shoe was revolutionary. How Bohemian. LOL. LOL too. So, Alexandar, let's go deep for a moment and travel back to May 12. It's 7 am and you're getting up. You walk down the hall, pass a mirror, glance fleetingly. You arrive in the kitchen to the prospect of a coffee. You have the coffee, shake your head and smile, you think, 'this is a good coffee day' when suddenly you stub your toe, drop the coffee cup, spill scorching hot coffee on your hot pants, slip on the wet floor, go flying, smash a vase when you crush the coffee table and coffee break the door off the dishwasher and totally break all the coffee cups ever. What was it you saw in the mirror? What? Where do you get all this stuff? That is amazing. Your research department is to be commended. I'm just blown away that you have all that. It's as if you were there. No really, that's something else. The mirror, Alex. The mirror. Huh? The mirror? What mirror? I didn't look into a mirror. The... mirror... Alex. No really. There was no mirror. I glanced out the window. What the, no, I, wait... You're SOL, buddy Why you SOB! Hey.FU! ICUP!! SO?! Getting back to something I'd like to explore with you. I've watched ice melt and seen the wind die, the Leafs blow, I've been a wailin' on the high seas. If you could be a friendly insect, what would you be, and not hairy or anything? I've always had a hard time answering that question. There are so many insects, maybe hundreds, and really, how do you choose? What are the criterion? It's not easy, for sure. Maybe a salamander. You mean like Sal, a man, 'der? LOL again. FU. Continuing on that train of thought for a moment, ask yourself this: where did I leave my keys, you idiot? In the car at the gas station while you were filling up an hour ago and you went in to get a coffee and... oh oh. If you could go back in time to just that last, say, hour and a half, what would you do differently? Quit drinking coffee. I couldn't do that. I'd go crazy and I don't even like coffee but no one can make me quit if I don't want to, though I'm not saying I don't want to or quit wanting to or just plain wanting to quit. Exactly. I've been saying that for years and I'm finally relieved to know other serious, smart in brain people are making the think in headvoice ideas too. It's time to take a coffee stand and deciding stuff to make the world a faster place to live in. Well, we seem to have run out of time. I've quite enjoyed our conversation, as usual, and would leave you with this thought to ponder... but don't ponder too long, and when I say 'ponder,' I don't mean, like, PONDER, just think about it with your eyebrows scrunched up and like you're pondering around. Okay then, what is the absolutely best day of your life? Next week. Bold and brilliant! It's been a great pleasure. Thank you. Charmed, I'm sure. -------------------------------------------------------- Gawd, I love that funny man! Haha wow! Probably the funniest thing I've read in a while and it makes me him even more. I love his crazy sense of humor Also, those pictures...every-single-one-of-them are so so lovely
  20. QUOTE (Cygnals @ Feb 12 2011, 07:18 PM) Always loved the part in "In My Time Of Dying" where Jimmy's riff sends the song on a faster pace after the blues-tinged verses in the beginning. Same here . The guitar solo of 'Time' or any guitar solo by David Gilmour for that matter.
  21. The first time I ever saw a commercial for this crap movie, I was like "Oh my god...I think the world is going to end!" The kid has no talent...and I think his songs have subliminal messages to young teenage girls saying "Love me, love my music...ITS AWESOME!" I sometimes wonder though....if I were still a teen in this day and age or if Justine Bieber came out when I was a teen, would I fall into the trap!? ....NAH!
  22. QUOTE (HowItIs @ Feb 9 2011, 02:02 AM)BTW, the new banner was made by my dear Husband who somehow doesn't mind that I lust after another man.... Yes, anyone can use it, too!
