Modest Man From Mandrake
I like maybe 4 songs by the Boss. I have tried and tried to get into the Bruce, but I guess for myself he's just one of those guys who's music I just don't like.
Khan
QUOTE (MULTIPLIED REACTION @ Jul 3 2010, 01:20 AM) QUOTE (WCFIELDS @ Jul 2 2010, 11:37 PM) not sure there is much love for Bruce on here.....IMO, he is the most overrated musician that I can think of... Overrated as a musician, absolutely, but not as a songwriter. Agreed...I am a fan of both and Bruce rocks! One of the best shows I have ever seen in my life. rushgoober
There was some live video in the 80's with Clarence Clemmons wailing on the sax, and I thought that was a pretty killer song. Any other time I've heard his songs, I never thought they were bad, but I never thought they were great either. Even when I have heard an occasional cool song by him, I never had any desire to get any of his music. I more respect him than am a fan - not really my thing... Xanadu93
I would like to get into the Boss some more. I don't own anything by him at all, and all I know is "Born in the U.S.A." and "Born to Run", the latter of which is my favorite.
tkdryan
Just listened to the born to run album, not bad. Rush and Springsteen are different kinds of rock. He is more mainstream. Rush is much better but i would see springsteen b4 many others
jonfiredaman02
I love love LOVE Bruce. This music is incredibly well written adn the music, while the antithesis of Rush (still my favorite band), just hit's me somewhere. I can't get enough. 70s Bruce was perfect, 80s Bruce is OK. 90s Bruce is terrible, but there's not a single band I like where I don't like at least some of their stuff. And since The Rising he's been doing great stuff again. And dear god, he is INCREDIBLE live. But I never really understood my taste in music. It doesn't make sense, even to me. My favorite musical artists: Rush, Devo, The Decemberists, Parliament/Funkadelic,Stevie Wonder, Bruce. None of them (except for p-funk and stevie) have anything in common. What can I say?
