You get 2 of these I think he already had two of those when he posted that. I like "Armor and Sword" a lot. It's probably my favorite vocal track from S&A. I think it's a well-crafted song. I definitely wouldn't say it's their best song since HYF, though...but that's why Goob said it instead. The songs that would come closest to the level of Armor & Sword greatness post-1987 imho: Dreamline Animate Cut to the Chase Stick It Out Nobody's Hero Far Cry Workin' Them Angels To a SLIGHTLY LESSER degree: The Pass The Pass is better than all of those

Silas Lang
QUOTE (mankad89 @ May 12 2010, 04:57 PM)lol wow, I love how this thread just arrogantly assumes the most recent albums were "mediocre," like it's a proven fact. I like Vapor Trails, Test For Echo and Counterparts just fine as entire albums, much more than Signals or Hold Your Fire.
jdouglas
Everything post PW on a double CD would have rocked. Force Ten Prime Mover Lock and Key Show Don't Tell Chain Lightning Scars Superconductor Dreamline Where's My Thing? Stick It Out Cut to the Chase Leave That Thing Alone Cold Fire Test for Echo Driven One Little Victory Far Cry The Main Monkey Business Malignant Narcissism I like some of the musical phases in a few others, but ultimately the lyrics are just too soft / weak for me to give them any serious repeated listening. To some people (read: 95% of the forum), it IS fact. You'll never have complete agreement or objective truth in regards to subjective opinions, but we do have a general consensus, and that general consensus says the last few albums as a generalization have been mediocre compared to what came before them. Obviously YMMV.

Pause Rewind Replay
Since I like too many songs from Presto, CP, VT, and S&A to ever cram 2 albums' worth onto one disc, my only option here is to combine RTB+T4E 1. Dreamline 2. RTB 3. Neurotica 4. Face Up 5. Test For Echo 6. Driven 7. Resist 8. Carve Away the Stone 9. The Big Wheel 10. You Bet Your Life (Note: I love the live version of Bravado, and Ghost Of A Chance shocked me on the S&A tour, but the studio efforts are not faves)
Pause Rewind Replay
QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ May 12 2010, 02:56 PM) To me it's a matter of combining their early albums into good albums, quite honestly. You're not alone on that one. Imagine... 1. Finding My Way 2. In The Mood 3. Take A Friend 4. Here Again 5. What You're Doing 6. Working Man 7. Fly By Night 8. By-Tor and the Snow Dog 9. Anthem
