Thankfully Crystal came out on top last night with a Kenny Loggins song of all things? Was it just me, or were the lyrics in that song basically her saying f*ck you to the judges for the last couple of weeks of judging? That was amazing - and she got away with it!

 

I'm hoping Big Mike goes home, but it could be Casey too - we'll see. I think the judges are way under-rating Casey's vocal abilities.

 

 

 

And the line of the night went to Ellen - you go girl! If you saw the show, you know what I'm talking about.

I'm so glad Mike went home! Don't get me wrong, I like the guy, but I always thought the best 3 were Crystal, Lee & Casey, in that order.

 

So Casey should go home next week, and then hopefully Crystal will win it. I feel fairly confident, unless Lee or Crystal seriously blow it next week (doubtful) that Casey will go home, but beyond that, I don't know if Crystal can beat Lee or not. I certainly hope so. At least I know that often the people who came in 2nd have done better than those who came in 1st, so either way she should have a hell of a chance at success.

i think the best three are in the top three (imagine that!). in an ideal world, i think casey should go this week and then next week crystal should beat lee.

 

i gotta say, thought, i'm pulling for lee to get kicked out tonight. i only say that because i REALLY want crystal to win and i don't know if she will against lee - he's definitely far more competition than casey.

As a ginormous Jeff Buckley fan, I was stunned to hear Lee sing the hell out of Hallelujah tonight. I'll never say he sang it better....but he surely sang it as well as Buckley.

 

I've always been a Crystal fan...but tonight I think Lee won me over.

Either way, no doubt that it'll be between Crystal and Lee (Casey is cute and sweet, but not even close to these two in caliber of singing).

 

And I don't even care who wins it. I love them both...and it seems the one who comes in second is usually more successful anyway....unless you shoot yourself in the foot (Adam Lambert).

Casey will definitely be going home. Honestly, I don't know if Crystal can beat Lee. I know she has a hell of a shot of a great career regardless, but I still really want her to win. Lee has a great voice, but I don't think he'll sing music I'm interested in. Crystal might. I think the judges are setting Lee up to take this thing, which could backfire -- like it did for Adam. As long as Crystal and Lee are in the top two, it's a win/win situation.

Out of fairness, I just listened to the Jeff Buckley and Rufus Wainwright version (I'm embarrassed to say I never listened to the Buckley one before). While the Jeff Buckley version was way better than the Rufus or Lee version (IMHO), still it couldn't come anywhere near KD Lang's version for me. Her voice and version have an emotional quality to me that is still unmatched. Someone would have to be a truly gifted singer to match it, much less top it.

I will respectfully agree to disagree. But it's a rather unfair argument. I'm a tad bit obsessed with Buckley, not just this song. If you're not familiar with him, check out his Grace LP. His voice, range, and guitar abilities are awe-inspiring. Such a shame he died so young.

 

But I did like the youtube version of k.d.'s Hallelujah better than the other version you posted.

 

But....nothing beats this!! (except maybe his live version...lol)

Not sure the show will survive unless they bring in a real heavy hitter. I've heard rumor that Adam Lambert might be a judge. I don't see that working out very well.   Guess we'll see.
