J2112YYZ Posted February 25, 2012 Share Posted February 25, 2012 I don't mind Amy's obsession with Penny because I understand why she has it. Penny seems to be the first person to befriend Amy and get her to loosen up and accept her for who she is even though she's a very strange person. When you don't make any friends and someone finally comes along that you do establish a bond with it means more to you than it might mean to somebody else who's always had a lot of friends. I also believe that Amy isn't sure about her sexual orientation. She's said on the show she's always been responsible for her own orgasims, so she's never experienced anything that would let her know for sure what she prefers. I think it'll eventually come out that she's a lesbian and that's why she feels that way towards Penny and why she makes all those comments. If the show from last week where she had that huge painting of her and Penny made doesn't prove that Amy has more than "just friends" feelings towards Penny then nothing does. "We have now found the missing cornerstone of particle physics," Rolf Heuer, director of the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN), told scientists. He said the newly discovered subatomic particle is a boson, but he stopped just shy of claiming outright that it is the Higgs boson itself - an extremely fine distinction. "As a layman, I think we did it," he told the elated crowd. "We have a discovery. We have observed a new particle that is consistent with a Higgs boson." The Higgs boson, which until now has been a theoretical particle, is seen as the key to understanding why matter has mass, which combines with gravity to give an object weight. The idea is much like gravity and Isaac Newton's discovery of it: Gravity was there all the time before Newton explained it. But now scientists have seen something very much like the Higgs boson and can put that knowledge to further use. CERN's atom smasher, the $10 billion Large Hadron Collider on the Swiss-French border, has been creating high-energy collisions of protons to investigate dark matter, antimatter and the creation of the universe, which many theorize occurred in a massive explosion known as the Big Bang. Two independent teams at CERN said Wednesday they have both "observed" a new subatomic particle - a boson. Heuer called it "most probably a Higgs boson, but we have to find out what kind of Higgs boson it is. " Asked whether the find is a discovery, Heuer answered, "As a layman, I think we have it. But as a scientist, I have to say, '"What do we have?'" When I read that the Higgs Boson had actually been discovered by CERN (and it wasn't gossip this time) I got really pumped. I would be really disappointed if they miss the opportunity to write an episode that confirms so much about what we know about science. Sure, she has had her moments and so has the rest of the show but overall I think it has not been as consistently funny as before. I forget the guy's name but I thought it would have been good if they brought that stupid guy(That dressed up as Superman) that penny was dating on as a regular.
