GhostGirl
What I love about these women is that they're not skin and bones. I guess Audrey Hepburn was pretty thin, but she was naturally petite, and it suited her. The other women weren't ashamed of their curves. I wish it was still like that today. Those of us who aren't stick figures would like it a lot better.

Jack Aubrey
QUOTE (GhostGirl @ Apr 8 2008, 10:03 AM) What I love about these women is that they're not skin and bones. I guess Audrey Hepburn was pretty thin, but she was naturally petite, and it suited her. The other women weren't ashamed of their curves. I wish it was still like that today. Those of us who aren't stick figures would like it a lot better. I think that this Hollywood trend of super-skinny women is inherently anti-feminine. I've said it before and I'll say it again: real women have curves, not angles.

It strikes me that there's probably a less crass way of saying that, or one could avoid using the term altogether.

Pamela became the ideal, how screwed up was that? Angelina was pretty until she decided to starve herself. Same with Jennifer Anniston. But now actresses have to look like waifs or strippers. Ugh.
