Another one to mention is Gaucho by Steely Dan. Butt-Ugly cover, but excellent album.

Don't forget Electric Ladyland by The Jimi Hendrix experience.

Both of these shitty covers were used. Jimi Hendrix's intended cover art never was. Not even on remasters. WHY!?

For that matter, Brain Salad Surgery by Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

An awesome cover? Yes. The actual cover to the album intended by artist H.R. Giger? No, never released. Where's the penis? Not even found on remasters. WHY THE f**k NOT!?

Censorshit blows chunks.

Not crazy about the cover of The Yes Album. With all of those wonderful Roger Dean covers, I wish The Yes Album had gotten one too.

Also can't forget the Blind Faith album. It's too eerie for me to look at. On my CD, I have it reversed so I don't have to look at the pseudo-child-pornographic cover.

I don't know if you're aware of this but Roger Dean hadn't met Yes when "The Yes Album" came along.

On one of my Yes documentaries, Chris Squire said that Roger Dean was looking to get a job as an artist when he went to Atlantic Records. And someone there told him that "a band called Yes is making an album right now".

As far as bad album covers go "Tormato" is not very good either. Not even the artist at Hipgnosis who did it thinks so which is why a tomato was thrown at it.

I figured that Dean wasn't in the picture when The Yes Album came out.

Yes - Going for the One

Just plain awful. comp26.gif

Even worse is Yes - 90125

Boy, that is one butt-ugly album cover, even by cheesy early 80's graphics standards.

I have to admit that I love the 90125 cover. And all along, I just new that I had good taste confused13.gif tongue.gif

Black Sabbath - Dehumanizer

great album, horrible cover... Sabbath have quite a history for crap sleeves anyway... but they have some great ones too... BS and Paranoid by Keef, Eternal Idol by Cindy Palmano...

Your album covers are tear-inducing masterpieces compared to this.

Ahh! It burns!

This is a canny thread, but what the **** is the matter with Masters of Reality? Compared to Paranoid it's a Di Vinci! I've always been embarrassed by the 'War Pig' theme, which would have been shite even if the name of the LP didn't change.

Looks like they were all dressed up and ready to go to the Gay Parade! (not that there's anything with that! laugh.gif )

I was really upset when the cover for Spinal Tap: Smell the Glove album got censored at the last minute to be a "black album".

But at least they somewhat revisited the theme when they finally released Bitch School.
