CMWriter Posted November 25, 2010 Posted November 25, 2010 QUOTE (teababe27 @ Nov 24 2010, 10:29 PM) Evidence. This pic kinda sucks, though. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5208/5205452631_eb451a2d75.jpg 2112 pokewalker by teababe27, on Flickr Eeehhh yeah, pic is very blurry and low contrast. But there's definitely a "2112" there! I went into Photoshop and now I can certainly see it. |D ...THAT IS SO COOL. /nerd
FoG Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 You definitely know you're a Rush fan when every single instance of the word rush automatically brings the band up to mind... I have this happen at least twice a day.
CMWriter Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 (edited) QUOTE You definitely know you're a Rush fan when every single instance of the word rush automatically brings the band up to mind... I have this happen at least twice a day. I was watching football today and every time I heard or saw the word "rush" (as in, "rushing yards" or whatnot, or "rushed for..") I thought of the band. And even during Keith Urban's concert (Cowboys vs. Saints game) for a time he had fire as his background.. and all I could think about was "Mission" (from Hold Your Fire) and "Caravan"! Same thing happened as my dad was lighting the fireplace. I yelled at him to "hold your fire". He just smiled and shook his head. And I think I'm corrupting my mother. I caught her humming "Subdivisions" today. I am officially taking over the household. |D Edited November 26, 2010 by CMWriter
RushCanuck Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 When you check the Coast to Coast AM website for a recap on the previous night's show, the first thing you check is whether they played any Rush bumper music.
x_analog_kid_x Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 When you are highly disappointed that your knife is magnetic, and your fork...is also magnetic. When your text-message ringtone is the synth-riff from Tom Sawyer, and it plays so many times a day that you start imagining it going off. When you stay home "sick" from school just so you can read the last 40 pages of Ghost Rider in peace.
IChoseFreeWill Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 You see the U-Haul van with the Inuktituk from Nunavut and you point and squeal "Test for Echo!" in delight. You read something about electromagnetic waves, and when you get to radio waves, you start singing "Invisible airwaves crackle with life".
CMWriter Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 You know you're a Rush fan when you're sitting quietly for the other band's performance (two bands here) during a concert.. and they start playing a song... and the only thing you can think of is MYSTIC RHYTHMS. And you can barely contain your squeal.
ColdFireYYZ Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Every time you go to a concert, you compare it to the Rush show you saw.
The Lost Xanadu Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 When you refer to the little accident you had last night as: "Emerald and the Basement Steps" (...square for battle, let the fray begin! ....Basement Steps won of course.... )
CMWriter Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 You know you're a Rush fan when you scour the ACT Math section, desperately looking for "2112"... and silently whine for the next sixty minutes, wishing it would've been there.
Lamelight Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 You do something with fire and you automatically think the opening lines of Mission
Babycat Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 You know you're a fan when everytime someone says the word "rush", you automatically think of the band ... I know I do. I find myself trying to fight off a knowing yet silly grin on my face...
Lamelight Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 You know you're a Rush fan when your schoolbook has a list of famous canadians but it's missing Rush (how can be?), so you just have to add there "Rush - The best band ever"
Lamelight Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 QUOTE (Babycat @ Dec 12 2010, 12:14 AM)I find myself trying to fight off a knowing yet silly grin on my face... Very familiar feeling! That's me every time someone says anything that can be related to Rush
CMWriter Posted December 11, 2010 Posted December 11, 2010 My male parental unit and I had a moment last night that I just remembered. |D I saw spotlight-things (still not sure what they were) shooting into the sky as we walked out of the theatre (ushered for a musical). I said something like, "MAYBE IT'S ALIENS" and he immediately broke out into "We've got Mars on the horizon -- says the National Midnight Star," and I cut in with "It's true!" Thus sparked a conversation about how Rush didn't play anything from GUP at the concert, something about "fire" (sparked my dad attempting to sing "Mission"'s opening) and complaining about how they need to play something other than "Time Stand Still" from HYF at concerts. All after spending three hours in A Christmas Carol.
HowItIs Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 You are vacationing in Hawai'i and still have to hear some Rush every day! Every time I get in the ocean, High Water starts running through my head.
Force Ten Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 QUOTE (x_analog_kid_x @ Dec 7 2010, 12:39 AM) When you are highly disappointed that your knife is magnetic, and your fork...is also magnetic. I checked that too. Unfortunately both the knife and fork were also magnetic.
NobodysHeroine Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 QUOTE (HowItIs @ Dec 12 2010, 04:20 AM) You are vacationing in Hawai'i and still have to hear some Rush every day! Every time I get in the ocean, High Water starts running through my head. Whenever I go to the beach, I think of these lyrics in "Presto": I had a dream of the open water I was swimming away out to sea So deep I could never touch bottom What a fool I used to be
SeaTurtle Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 QUOTE (NobodysHeroine @ Dec 12 2010, 04:23 PM)Whenever I go to the beach, I think of these lyrics in "Presto": I had a dream of the open water I was swimming away out to sea So deep I could never touch bottom What a fool I used to be Me, too. I was thinking of those when I went to the beach last summer! And also, probably because I wanted so much for time to stand still, I was stuck on these lyrics from said song: If I could slow it all down Like some captain, Whose ship runs aground- I can wait until the tide comes around

Many Rushians do. Whoa, it's like the Rush guys know. They are geniuses. And your signature is incredibly adorable. I'm a cat lover.
IChoseFreeWill Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 When you do not disagree with practically any of their lyrics...even though you are NOT an atheist by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm a cat lover too, especially my kitty. It's a picture we took of him a couple years ago when he was climbing the Christmas tree.
Babycat Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 You know you're a fan when you know their birthdays before your own friends & families. (I know it's been put in before, but it's one I identify with...)
