Slime
What drinks can YOU make at home with your current supplies/hardware? Also, what recipes are you masterful with when you've got all the right stuff? Here's my very short list, since I'm pretty new to mixing drinks. I've made a martini both ways (gin and vodka styled). I'd say I'm decent with it. I've made ONE screwdriver. Tasted like orange juice to me. I made a CCG once, 50/50 mix. Went down well and came back up easily enough too... Midway Hawker
Currently I have Tequila and Margarita mix and salt (for Margaritas, doh). I also have Jim Beam and 7up for High Balls.. However, I usually just skip the 7up and drink the Beam straight. High Balls are better with Ginger Ale anyway.. But I ain't got none of that. I need to pick up some good Gin. I haven't had a good Martini in awhile. Weakly Criminal
In the time I spent in government captivity, some 8 yrs, I learned to make some rather tasty beverages from the most basic ingredients. Through years of trial and error, my partner and I (known as Earnest and Julio to our customers) found two recipes that were remarkably tasty and even easy on the stomach. The first was a rather slow cook, was possible only in the summer months if outside of the bakery, and was without question the finest drink available inside the walls. This was cherry wine, and if done right could be as smooth and tasty as any SA lambic. It was by far the most profitable as well; we even sold some to guards. It consisted only of cherry juice from canned cherries, sugar and yeast, but required very steady temperatures, and several weeks to cook off, due to its very low acid content. The other was tomato juice wine, which if done right tasted remarkably like a yeasty bloody mary. Just tomato juice, sugar, yeast and water, but very easy to cook and with a kick that often got us into trouble. Eventually we had to stop selling this to the Natives, as they tended to go on the warpath and bring the heat. This was the one recipe we found that would cook all the way to 12.5% (the max) in about 10 days. When it stopped bubbling, you knew it was ready. Since all the sugar cooked out it made for an easy recovery and an enjoyable breakfast. I suddenly find myself nostalgic. Perhaps I'll cook some up and see if it's as good as I remember it. dons01
With the available ingredients at hand I can make the following: Budwieser. And urine. I am not sure which tasted better having not been stranded in a boat for a long period. Nowt wrong with bad 'drinking' jokes. A big white horse walks into a bar and sets his hooves on the counter. 'Pint of lager please'. 'You know' says the bar keeper, 'we have a whisky named after you!' 'What? Eric whisky?, Never heard of it'. Boom boom! Necromancer
I can pour a mean Yeungling Lager. The only mixed drink I have any fame at parties for is what I call a Tequila Daiquiri. I mix the tequila, grenadine (lots more than normal), oj and ICE in a blender and mix it all up. They are fab and they get you very drunk very quickly. I also make good jello shots.
