Name the band the opposite of Rush so it refers to older age.

...who wouldn't go see "Lee/Lifeson"?

So...in 2023...what is the value of the name Rush?  I appreciate that Geddy and Alex own the name, and it is their right to use it however they see fit, regardless of any statements they made in the past.

The name is a brand for sure...and I would venture to say that the only reason Geddy and Alex would choose to use it is because it has brand value.  But...what is that value, really?  Do you think there really is a sizeable number of people who would just buy a ticket to see "Rush" (the way they might just buy a ticket to go see Journey or Styx or some other legacy band) who wouldn't be informed enough/aware enough to buy a ticket to "Lee/Lifeson Project" or whatever?  Like, is there honestly someone who sees an ad for "Rush" playing in their town in 2024 and says, "Oh, they haven't toured for a while...saw'm back on that tour where they did Moving Pictures all the way though...I'm gonna buy a ticket." ?

It seems like using Rush with some other drummer is going to rile up some of the fanbase...so would it really be worth it for them to do it (considering how much they seem to genuinely value their fans)?

Many of my friends might see a Rush show.  None of them would see a Lee/Lifeson show unless I organized it for them.

Even though they know Peart is dead?  Or do they not follow it that closely?

They probably don't know it, nor would it mean too much to them.  On average, they probably know about 5 or 6 Rush songs and recognize them from classic rock radio or by me introducing them to the music.  It would be similar to them going to see Guns'n'Roses for name recognition, but not going to see Axel Rose and a bunch of other guys they've never heard of.

Rush for me has been non interesting for 21 years! Ever since 2002 with the release of "Vapor Trails" and following tour!! For me it's the last time Geddy's vocals sounded good in the higher ranges that is! All of their releases after that being live or studio have been sub par!! Hey I know I'll take a lot of flak for those comments, it's ok fire away!!

With the great Neil Peart gone, it would be hard to attend!

My concern, more than whoever is drumming is who is singing. Geddy had some rough nights the last couple of years…

Ill still go.

And I've left shows early. Madison Square Garden to catch the last train. Saratoga to beat the traffic for the long  drive. Time Machine at Mohegan Sun because the encore sucked. My folks’ house was so close to the casino I eas probably home before Neil’s bus rolled out.

With the polka intro? Yup.

I should add that I felt that they were lazy with the Setlist on that tour. The first I saw was in Chicago with a friend of mine who is an executive for Harrah’s  and a friend of his who is a freelance reporter working the concert. He had a temporary pass to get up by the front of the stage to take some incredible photos (which I have), and then reviewed it for an independent Chicago paper. As we were walking out, he asked me what I thought of the show, and I told him that I felt a little bit like they mailed it in. He put that in the review!

La Villa is one of my all-time favorite songs, but they never once played it legit on any of the tours that I saw. It was always altered or abbreviated in one way or another.

That was the best part. Rush needs more polka.Don't want to hear rearrangements listen to the record. If it weren't for the rearrangements it might not have been played at all.

Unfortunately, We had the leave that show early (only time we ever left early even though the R30 encore sucked) Pushed it to the point where we had to actually run for the last train out which we barely made.

I'm going to say "No" As much as I enjoy Rush's tunes and I like to see Geddy and Alex perform live, it just won't be the same with out the Professor.

Plus I'm not going to pay the rediculas ticket prices that would be charged either.

For the record, I NEVER left a Rush show early.

I always stayed until the last note stopped ringing in the venue, the house lights came up, and then I usually hung out and chatted with other fans for 20-30 minutes.

Stardate:

February 1988

Location:

Hollywood Sportatorium

Event:

Rush Hold Your Fire Tour

My girlfriend and I somehow got into a huge argument after Rush finished their set but still had not come out for the encore Medley etc.

She was being insane......so much so she said let’s f***ing go.....I told her “f**k no” I don’t leave Rush early......ever. She stormed off without me.

I knew she would wait at the exit.......f**k her.

I jammed out till the very last note.

We ended up breaking up in 1991.......which was great. I did not take her to the Presto Tour in 1990 after that debacle.....and we ended our wild relationsip in time so I would never have to deal with that shit again and I went on to enjoy the RTB tour in Feb 1992.

Don’t f**k with my music happiness.

This is what happens when we drag girls to a Rush concert.

Many such cases.
