Alex’s Amazing Arpeggios Posted August 19, 2023 Share Posted August 19, 2023 Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds - Council Skies 2023 (3/10) I’ve never been an Oasis fan, when they were big in the mid 90s I always thought like most acts adored by ‘ trendy music experts ‘ they were extremely over-rated and as musicians to quote Steve Vai ’ could barley play their instruments ‘ My other half however is a big fan so I thought I best listen so I’m at least familiar with the songs when we go and see NGHFB in concert in Manchester next Saturday. My album reviews are 99.99% of the time positive, I rarely score less than 7/10. However I’ve listened to this album at least 4 times since I downloaded and it’s just dull boring, nothing there music. It sounds like Noel picked up his acoustic and just recorded the first few chords that came to mind ! The only remotely rememberable song is ’Pretty Boy ‘ and that too is bang average. To be fair to Noel I find his voice less annoying than his brother’s and NGHFB album ‘ Who Built the Moon ‘ from 2017 was much more uplifting and experimental and for me that’s a 7.5/10 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
