Which of these two songs about that old Greek mythological character do you prefer?

The Kansas song has a bit more going on that interests me.

Gona go Kansas. but it's really close. i love the Chorus of Iron Maiden's song.

but in the end......Kansas's Icarus takes me more places.

I never listen to Icarus without listening to Icarus II afterwards. 2 of the best Kansas songs out there, the 2nd is right up there in the same level of greatness with the 1st.

Love both, but Kansas has a bit more going on

Maiden for me

That was the first Maiden single cover I'd ever seen - and I really started enjoying Derek Rigg's work. Not just because it was about Eddie or the band...but because Derek's art seemed to create a world that an Eddie could exist in. There are apparently a couple of the EP or single covers he painted that are different points of view of the same place. That sort of continuity works for me.

BTW, I chose Kansas. I like the proggier direction and themes little better. But it's a close call..... there's nothing wrong with the Maiden classic.

Maiden, but it has to be a live version. The studio version of Icarus is just too slow
