The last two albums were a complete embarrassment, one even had a rip off the Autograph robot on the cover, it's called Just Push Play, just push it in the toilet more like. And they also did a bad covers album called Honking on Bobo, it should have been called Honking on Cock.

I got the red cover and I bought it in October 1985, I got that and Dokken's Under Lock and Key together, both US imports. The UK edition of Under Lock and Key didn't come out until March, I got that later too of course. I bought them from this place in London called Shades, mail order. And it no longer exists, it went out of business in the late 80's.

 

It's really sad about the Record Store in general. We lived in the prime of Music!!!! I only have a thousand albums on my iPhone because I need Blue Tooth for my car. Sucks ass. iPoon doesn't even have Accept's Breaker on it.

I gave up buying vinyl back around 1993. In those days though they kind of forced you into it, vinyl started to disappear from about 1991. I've still got most of my vinyl from the 80's though and some from the late 70's.

I think it's out yeah. Blabbermouth gave it a bad review, 4 out of 10. Michael Sweet went on Blabbermouth to complain because the guy Dom Lawson from Metal Hammer said he liked the music but hated the religious content. At this point though he should have known what kind of lyrics Stryper has.

I don't get the hype with Floyd, it just sounds like ok rock music to me. I don't even see why it's progressive. Gilmour's guitar solos are good but he can't do guitar solos all the time so what does that leave you with? Ok rock music with bored vocals.

I actually enjoy "Obscured By Clouds." "Meddle" of course that I have already mentioned. The CBS Pink Floyd Years are very commercial actually. "The Final Cut" should be called "The Final Butt." It's shite.

 

The GIimour Pink Floyd albums are good but I could easily fall asleep to them. Pink Floyd are Legendary. However the are boring commercial stoner rock. Snooze Fest Rock.

 

The Roger Waters solo albums are all crap too.

See I wasn't old school at all until about ten years ago, when I chose to buy at random Rush, Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush and Beatles albums all at roughly the same time. Before then, I was all about the more modern, post-1990 rock and metal bands. Part of my love of this forum has been having my mind blown by music of the past! I came to truly love Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Styx, Kansas, Enchant, Dream Theater, Ratt, Dokken and many others, and it's totally changed my life!

 

But I do love rock music with female vocals, metal even moreso. But most of my music collection is male fronted. It's just my thing, it's no different to how you love your bands of the eighties!

 

Just be grateful I didn't grow up a 2000s kid who thought heavy metal was all about Korn, Limp Bizkit, Slipknot and Creed like so many of my peers did!

 

And this year, Pat Benatar became a top twenty artist for me!
