I won't lie I prefer the music of my teen era than yours. But saying that...the more I look back on the last decade, the better the great stuff stands out! At least for me.

This was a good year!

1: Underdog World Strike -- Gogol Bordello Their first great album

2: Hypnotize/Mezmerize -- System of a Down Together because they were intended to piece together

3: Burned Again -- Stiffed It might make no one else's top 5, but I LOVE this album

4: From Mars to Sirius -- Gojira By this time their creativity was impossible to ignore

5: A Healthy Distrust -- Sage Francis His best.

Making this list somehow pointed out mistakes I made on my 2004 list. When I really begin to delve, I realize that every decade there are a lot of great albums.

Type in "200- in music" and use Wikipedia. Also I do on Google "200- in metal" or any other genre.

Saves me having to ransack my huge collection! Normally my very favourites stand out immediately.

I made a couple of errors where I put the wrong album under the wrong year haha

What I've been doing is going through bands I always love that have had recent output and check those dates. Then I do type in a general search for the year.

But there are a few albums I love that are obscure, and I have not narrowed it down to genre and I should- I like all genre and as you know some get little attention by 'best of' lists.

If I prefer my teens to yours, it’s probably because I didn’t pay much mind to the charts and listened to new music that I actually liked. If you toss the charts in there, 00s probably take the cake over 10s.

I've pretty much lost track of dates after about 1995. These 2000, 2010 dates seem to be almost fake. The 21st century years are kind of bogus in terms of time quality.

Sigur Rós - Takk...

Fiona Apple - Extraordinary Machine

The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan

Paul McCartney - Chaos and Creation in the Backyard

I need to re-listen to Porcupine Tree and Riverside. I like both of their 2005 releases.
