goose
Pirates are behind 13-1 and it's only the 5th inning. Both Pirates and Dodgers are stylin', though, in the 4th of July holiday uniforms! Uh-huh-huh...his shirt says "Wood"... He probably WAS excited, his team ended up winning 17- 1 !! :o :PWell, that's just mean!
Principled Man
The Brewers’ 28-year old rookie Nate Orf - an undrafted free agent who worked his way up the very hard way - got his first Major League hit today.......a home run down the left field line. His teammates, Manny Pina and Jesus Aguilar, lifted him up and carried him out of the Brewer dugout for a curtain call. The Milwaukee crowd gave Orf a whole lotta love!

The lot plotted is an under utilized( dilapidated warehouse)corner of SW Ybor City. The renditions of the "Ball park" (not "Stadium") as it is being billed looks intriguing. A fully AC translucent dome with an intimate 30,000 + capacity will be one of the smallest if not the smallest MLB venues. EST $$$tag 896 million!!! ( that is including pedestrian overpasses & cross walks. Another touted feature is a opening glass wall to let " the inside out & the outside in". The biggest question lurking is "who's gonna pay?" I personally would like to see this happen but knowing how "Tampa" politics work there's still 10-15 years of arguing before anything seriously will happen. Did I mention the 896 million dollar "projected" price tag!... Edited July 11, 2018 by Crimsonmistymemory

invisible airwave
Angels got a couple of decent pitching prospect from Boston isn’t the trade deadline so that’s nice. Got them by trading Kinsler who only had a 2 year deal and is a veteran anyways. Hopefully they do better than most of their “looks good on paper” trades of the past years especially since Scioscia is finally out next year as manager. Only behind the Oakland A's My Angels have been struggling against them in recent years like yesterday. That will hopefully change when Scioscia is gone next year. He should have been fired years ago. Sell the team, Arte!
goose
A's are 67-46, good enough for 2nd in the AL West and 3rd/4th in the AL overall. Dodgers lead the NL West. Life is good right now!

Rick N. Backer
Thanks for stopping by Yankees. Come back again soon. Congrats...the Sox earned it and look unstoppable. Judge out of the lineup helped. Still I have too many (bad) memories of late season match ups where the Yankees choked the life out of the Sox (losing 5 straight Labor Day weekend in 2006 immediately leaps to mind, as does the 1978 Boston Massacre). I'll take it.
Crimsonmistymemory
Funny thing regarding the Tampa Bay Rays is; If we were in any other division (less the AL West) we still would be in 3rd place in most and 2nd place in some. However in those divisions the rays would be trailing by an average of 5 GB (13 in the AL West) NOT 23! Thanks Boston! But we're doing much better (still above .500) than I expected we would at the beginning of the season when the team basically jettisoned all our proven good players. On another Rays note Tampa is 2nd to none when it comes to 1 run decisions! Win or lose no other team in the MLB has more games decided by just one (1) run. In breaking news regarding the potential new Ybor City digs. The Rays ownership announced they're working on a sponsorship/naming rights deal (with a yet to be disclosed corporate entity) that would bring their contribution for financing the new ballpark to $425 million. That is 275 more than the original 150 million pledged by the Rays & almost 1/2 of the funding needed to get the deal done. The moral of the story is to beat the M's in 9. They're now 12-1 in these essentially toss up games. Principled Man
Michael Kopech of the White Sox is the latest to have dumb Internet comments dug up and used against him. Like Josh Hader of the Brewers, he was 17 when he made the comments. Now, he has to prove that he's "changed", and he will probably have to take "Sensitivity" classes....
