Band wise its a tie for me.

In terms of which country has produced the most guitar gods its not even close in my eyes.

USA blows away the uk in terms of innovation imo.

Chuck berry

Hendrix ( i know he became famous in england)

Eddie van halen

Steve vai

Joe Satriani

Tosin abasi

Buckethead

Bo diddley

Bb king

Etc etc

We can add

- Les Paul

- Chet Atkins

- Stevie Ray

- Roy Buchanan

- Scotty Moore

Jimmy page

Eric Clapton

Jeff beck

Rory Gallagher

Gary Moore

Pete Townshend

Richie Blackmore

Dave gilmour

Steve howe

I'm sure both sides could go on and on and on and on......

You could add legato master Allan Holdsworth, and Brian May.

Voted for both since their are groups I like from both sides of the pond.

That being said, if that option had not been available, I would have voted for England. Their are way to many groups from England I really like (e. g. The Who, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden) and only a few US groups that approach a similar level of interest.

As usual, people are conflating England with the whole of the UK.......

The sooner we are independent of it the better imo, then you can refer to it as the UK to your hearts content

I included Scottish bands on my list.

I agree with you though, England seems to be the best all and end all.

As a south African born with Dutch, French, afghan and Scottish heritage...I remain neutral haha

Dutch, French, Scottish- I as well!

Along with a healthy heap of German, and a little Cherokee.
