Thanks to this thread. i feel a Genesis binge coming on.

and when when i lie yes and Genesis albums side by side. it really is not even close.

Mick

Let's try it!

YES vs. From Genesis to Revelation

Time And A Word vs. Tresspass

The Yes Album vs. Nursery Cryme

Fragile vs. Foxtrot

Close To The Edge vs. Selling England By The Pound

Tales From Topographic Oceans vs. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

Relayer vs. Trick Of The Tail

Going For The One vs. Wind And Wuthering

Tormato vs. ...And Then There Were Three

Drama vs. Duke

90125 vs. ABACAB

Big Generator vs. Genesis

Union vs. Invisible Touch

Talk vs. We Can't Dance

Keys To Ascension (and everything after) vs. Calling All Stations (and the nothing that came after)

The metaphor kind of breaks down around the 80s where Genesis' output far surpasses Yes' in number. I haven't heard all of them by either band, but have at it for those who have!

YES vs. From Genesis to Revelation-i like neither really

Time And A Word vs. Tresspass-Tresspass

The Yes Album vs. Nursery Cryme-The Yes Album.......by the tiniest of hairs

Fragile vs. Foxtrot-Foxtrot

Close To The Edge vs. Selling England By The Pound-Tie......so close, lol

Tales From Topographic Oceans vs. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway-The Lamb

Relayer vs. Trick Of The Tail-Trick

Going For The One vs. Wind And Wuthering-W&W

Tormato vs. ...And Then There Were Three-And Then...........

Drama vs. Duke-Duke

90125 vs. ABACAB-ABACAB

Big Generator vs. Genesis-Genesis

Union vs. Invisible Touch-Invisible Touch

Talk vs. We Can't Dance-We Can't Dance

Keys To Ascension (and everything after) vs. Calling All Stations (and the nothing that came after)-Too close but Both pretty meh.

So you see.....Genesis crushes yes.......hard......lol

Mick

Yes > Genesis across the board until we get to Big Generator vs Self-titled, then it's Genesis > Yes from there.

That was easy.

Note: Magnification > those 80's Genesis albums that won.

No way MR YES! I mea Mr Knot? NOT!!!!!

Gosh! All the stuff after "Big Generator" is crap.......

"CALLING ALL STATIONS" is one of the greatest albums on the earth!!! JMFO!!!

JUST MY FUCKKING OPINION!!!!!!

"NOT ABOUT US" NOT!

Calling All Stations? I honestly didn't know it even existed until this post. Somehow I missed it and thought it all ended with We Can't Dance.

Calling All Stations!!!!!! FIVE STARS!!

Is this a shifter car? I cannot drive a shifter car, alright, so we got a little situation here. I can't drive these kinda cars! What the f**k is goin' on! You think that's funny? Would you like to know, smartass? Would you like to know why I can't drive this kinda car? I'll tell you why, I'm used to *luxury* cars.... Have you ever heard of a luxury car ?? You know what luxury means? Ever heard of Cadillac, Cadillac Eldorado? That's what I drive.... I drive cars that *shift* themselves

I've been overhyping it for a few years. Its good, but its not better than the best moments from IT or WCD. but at its worst its better than the most insipid tunes from the 2nd half of WCD. Somewhere in the other Genesis thread I posted my revised track listing for WCD jettisoning the weak ass shit from that and cut it down to regular album length and its a winner.

Alien Afternoon is a great f***ing song. From there on CAS is great, the first 3 songs suck.

I LOVE YOU DD!

I get "CONGO" BUT I LOVE IT TOO!!

"Small Talk" bugs me but I still love it!!

"Calling All Stations' is like "Halloween III."

Only a few of us get it.

The masses hate them.

MAKES ME HAPPY!

I am a LION!

Lions eat sheeple!

This is the only social media thing that I am on because I love most of you on here.

Seriously.

Why would I waste my time on the internet with dummies.

I know I've pissed many people off over the years, but I've made more friends on here for sure.

I can't believe I am listening to some Phil Collins solo albums and I like them.

Reminds me of when I was a kid in high school.

"TAKE ME HOME!"

Earl's been drinking golden ale tonight!

HAHAHAHHA! Why do I love you Pat?????

I'm drinking a Bee Line Honey Ale tonight! GOLDEN!!!!!!

We are brothers!!!

 :givebeer: :smoke: :notworthy:

You amaze me buddy!!!

So many friends.

Perhaps I am "The Enemy Within...."

Love,

RUSH

Thanks to this thread. i feel a Genesis binge coming on.

and when when i lie yes and Genesis albums side by side. it really is not even close.

Mick

Let's try it!

YES vs. From Genesis to Revelation

Time And A Word vs. Tresspass

The Yes Album vs. Nursery Cryme

Fragile vs. Foxtrot

Close To The Edge vs. Selling England By The Pound

Tales From Topographic Oceans vs. The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

Relayer vs. Trick Of The Tail

Going For The One vs. Wind And Wuthering

Tormato vs. ...And Then There Were Three

Drama vs. Duke

90125 vs. ABACAB

Big Generator vs. Genesis

Union vs. Invisible Touch

Talk vs. We Can't Dance

Keys To Ascension (and everything after) vs. Calling All Stations (and the nothing that came after)

The metaphor kind of breaks down around the 80s where Genesis' output far surpasses Yes' in number. I haven't heard all of them by either band, but have at it for those who have!

Probably because I came to Yes before Prog era Genesis... I grew up in the 80s so Genesis to me was Misunderstanding, Invisible Touch, etc. Later on I went back and discovered the 70s Genesis. By then Yes was already deep-rooted into my psyche.

yes in the 80's was adorable.

i just get vibes of look guys......we're hip. lol

Of course i get those same vibes from a majority of Invisable Touch, lol

Mick

Although 90125 is really a masterpiece. Collins era Genesis is an improvement over Gabriel era, but I don't think they ever nailed it the way Yes did with 90125. Lightning in a bottle.
