  1. "I agree with Mark. This is a pass show; not sure who they are targeting. Totally mechanical. The audience did not come alive until the end of the show when they played a few if their better known songs. Honestly, this is a shadow of the band I saw in the 70's. The arrogance to play all new music should be left to Van Morrison... not the show I hoped to see." ...Please...PLEASE be a troll post.
  2. The Spirit of Radio La Villa Strangiato Natural Science Xanadu 2112 Jacob's Ladder YYZ Vital Signs The Camera Eye Subdivisions The Analog Kid Marathon Leave That Thing Alone As far as the popular songs go, I could listen to all of these at any RUSH show I go to.
  3. JUST three? 1. Jacob's Ladder 2. Natural Science 3. Headlong Flight My upcoming show in October will only be my third. I wasn't much into Rush yet in 2008 when I saw them on the S&A tour. Can't even remember them playing Natural Science.
  4. Working Man, anything from S&A minus Armor and Sword and MalNar
  5. I love the reggae sensibilities to some Rush songs, but it doesn't work well with Working Man. It should be a full-blown ROCKIN' moment from the start of the song to the end.
  6. Glad the crowd was awesome in Indy! Strange that everyone seemed to get into WTW though!
  7. I'm pretty shocked at the numbers myself. Suppose I didn't realize how many times I had the album playing in the background while I'm just piddling around at home. Caravan - 56 BU2B - 57 Clockwork Angels - 77 The Anarchist - 84 Carnies - 78 Halo Effect - 51 Seven Cities of Gold - 48 The Wreckers - 40 Headlong Flight - 59 BU2B2 - 52 Wish Them Well - 49 The Garden - 53 Frankly, I'm surprised I didn't skip BU2B2 more often!
  8. Lerxst does a killer solo, but other than that it doesn't do much for me live.
  9. Can't wait to hear mild-mannered Geddy say BITCH live!
  10. Are you guys kidding? R40 is a myth. It's not happening. Not only are they touring Europe next year but they're definitely going for a second leg in the States. Exhaustion will set in by the end of next year. I predict 2014 will be a break year for the boys. Maybe they'll work on an album during this time though and put it out early 2015 and start touring in support of that.
  11. QUOTE (The K Man @ Sep 13 2012, 01:09 AM) I know the concern from a lot of people is that the set list is lacking in standards/old songs, but I say chuck The Big Money and rotate The Spirit of Radio and Limelight, and then replace Far Cry with Closer to the Heart at the end of the first set, and it would look great. Based off of the most recent revision, the set list would be: Set 1: Subdivisions The Spirit of Radio or Limelight Force Ten Grand Designs The Body Electric or Middletown Dreams Territories The Analog Kid Bravado or The Pass Where's My Thing Closer to the Heart Set 2: Caravan Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies The Wreckers Headlong Flight Halo Effect Seven Cities of Gold or Wish Them Well The Garden Manhattan Project or Dreamline Red Sector A YYZ Working Man Encore: Tom Sawyer 2112 Thoughts? Looks good to me. I'd also swap Working Man with Xanadu (If Geddy can sing it still) or Natural Science/La Villa.
  12. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Sep 12 2012, 10:16 PM) QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Sep 12 2012, 09:44 PM) My point is I don't think Rush wants to continue that way...having to play 80's songs and soft stuff because it's easier. Maybe I'm wrong...you just never know. I want to soak up every second of the concert because I definitely feel like we won't get much more of this 80's songs and soft stuff? Come on. Now that we have Clockwork Angels, you can create a great setlist on their post Roll the Bones stuff alone . Set 1: Far Cry Caravan BU2B Cut to the Chase Working Them Angels Vapor Trails Way the Wind Blows Where's My Thing? Test For Echo Stick it Out Driven (With Bass Solo) Clockwork Angels Set 2: Animate Cold Fire Spindrift The Anarchist Carnies Main Monkey Business Seven Cities of Gold Secret Touch Mal-Nar/ Drum Solo Alex's Solo/ Halo Effect The Wreckers Double Agent Headlong Flight Encore: One Little Victory EarthShine The Garden How many fantasy setlists have you drafted in the past year?
  13. A bit sad that it's dropped. It should take Working Man's place now that 2112 is permanently on both setlist encores.
  14. I'm happy with this, now if La Villa or Natural Science would replace Working Man, it'd be perfect. Frigging stoked that 2112 with Grand Finale is a guarantee now!
  15. Can you guys imagine if there was NO internet around? People would FLIP (Even moreso than they are now!) over these setlists. I think with the advent of the internet, a lot of us have grown spoiled and expect everything to go our way when we see RUSH live.

Songs that they have actually played quite a bit on various tours but they aren't considered the hits or classics. Songs like Red Sector A, Big Money, Force Ten, Dreamline. I'm not sure why they're playing those 4 songs. They've been played a bunch and it's not like they get the casual fans charged up. Look at what a few simple changes would do to it Limelight Subdivisions Freewill Grand Designs The Body Electric/Middletown Dreams Territories The Analog Kid Bravado/The Pass Where's My Thing? Far Cry Caravan Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies Seven Cities of Gold The Wreckers Headlong Flight Halo Effect The Garden Manhattan Project/Dreamline YYZ 2112 (Overture/Temples of Syrinx/Grand Finale) The Spirit of Radio La Villa Strangiato Tom Sawyer Just added Limelight, La Villa, and Freewill and took out Big Money, Force Ten, and Red Sector A...3 songs they have played a ton. I think these 3 simple changes would make everyone happy Looks good but you forgot a (full) Xanadu. Its a crime that they refuse to play that song, one of their all time greatest - and one geddy can surely still sing, btw. I'm sure they are holding all their big guns for the R40 Tour. They knew that mostly the hard core fans were the ones going to this tour since they just relased Clockwork Angels and they are touring with a string section. I'm sure we'll get Xanadu, Hemisphere's (Prelude), Cygnux X-1, Natural Science, y-Tor and The Snow Dog, La Villa Strangiatto, Red Barchetta, Freewill, and many others during their next Mega-hits tour which will probably be R40 in 2014. for now just watch R30 if you can't appreciate the CA Tour for all its brilliance. I can promise you Rush isn't sitting around talking about an R40 tour and what they should save for it. It's not their style to look that ahead There will be NO R40.....that has, and always will be a fan creation! Take in this tour while you can! Hermy, I will bve taking in the tour on Novermber 3rd but I'm also hoping for this in 2014: Set 1: R40 Instrumedley: (Working Man/Fly By Night/ Beneath Between and Behind/ No-One at The Bridge/ Something For Nothing/ A Farewell to Kings) Tom Sawyer Caravan Test For Echo Kid Gloves Vapor Trails Cut to the Chase Jacobs Ladder Mal-Nar Far Cry Freewill Natural Science Set 2: Limelight Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Red Barchetta The Camera Eye Cold Fire Open Secrets New World Man Distant Early Warnings Headlong Flight YYZ/ drum Solo Alex's Solo/ The Trees Xanadu (Entire) 2112 Overture/ Temples/ Finale Encore: Subdivsions La Villa Strangiatto Closer to the Heart (Extended) 2nd Encore: A Farewell to Fans Instrumedley: (Finding My Way, Anthem, By-Tor and The Snowdog, The Necromancer, Bastile Day, A Passage to Bangkok, Cygnus X-1, Hemispheres (Prelude) The Spirit of Radio This would never happen! Keep up the hope though. I think if there is a R40 tour (There won't be, so this is purely conjecture), it'd be something like this: Tom Sawyer Caravan Armor and Sword Kid Gloves Vapor Trail Witch Hunt The Weapon The Enemy Within Freeze Freewill Headlong Flight The Spirit of Radio Roll the Bones Driven BU2B Digital Man The Anarchist Nobody's Hero Closer to the Heart Hemispheres (Prelude) YYZ Jacob's Ladder La Villa Strangiato Natural Science Limelight

They've toured so much lately. I bet they'll take 2014 as an off-year, maybe put out another album (Probably their last) in the winter or early 2015, then they'll start touring in support of their album again July/August 2015.
  18. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Sep 11 2012, 10:10 PM) Now this is a solo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5omFFeLEXFE I raise you...RANDOM YOUTUBE BASSIST! Seriously, this guy is friggin amazing.
  19. QUOTE (rushbabe @ Sep 12 2012, 04:19 AM) QUOTE (The Mighty Dudad @ Sep 11 2012, 06:30 PM) Well, if you are in Pittsburgh tonight, you're getting them both! Per RIAB and other thread here, SCOG replaced WTW tonight. Awesome...this is what they should have done in the first place. WTW sucks...I hope they keep this change in the setlist
  20. Australia really has gotten screwed over the years in regards to . Why can't go there for a couple shows?
  21. QUOTE (GeminiRising79 @ Sep 11 2012, 09:33 PM) QUOTE (Alchemical @ Sep 11 2012, 08:58 PM) Cool...but he used the word auspicious wrong. Oh Geez. First the Alex trainwreck solo and now this. Wouldn't this sort of blunder be more suitable for Neil/The Professor to f**k up? Neil using the wrong word...oh the horror.
  22. QUOTE (The Mighty Dudad @ Sep 11 2012, 09:30 PM) Well, if you are in Pittsburgh tonight, you're getting them both! Per RIAB and other thread here, SCOG replaced WTW tonight. I hope that's a permanent change. I have no love for 7CoG but I'll take it over WTW. Wasn't WTW almost scrapped from the album all-together? If I recall they really had trouble figuring out what to do with the song initially. I can see the boys just not digging playing it live, so hopefully this is a permanent change. Sorry WTW fans!
