  1. I'm going to nitpick but he got a few of his facts wrong: "There was an unbelievable surge in the crowd when Rush hit the stage, their first local appearance in years, and they began with “YYZ" First of all, it wasn't their first local appearance in years. They play Toronto every tour, including the VT tour the year previous. Second, they did not open with YYZ. They opened with Tom Sawyer. Sorry to nitpick but it just bugs me when they get their facts wrong.
  2. Not sure if anyone mentioned "Operation Mindcrime" by Queensryche yet, but I'll throw that into the mix as well.
  3. Yes. I always thought it was obvious.
  4. Opiate and Undertow are good albums, not great. Aenima and 10,000 Days are great albums. Lateralus is a BRILLIANT album!

    Boring drum solo R30

I used to always enjoy Neil's solos but, over the last decade or so, I have found that his solos have gotten way too long. I often thought "this solo would be so much better if it was a few minutes shorter". That's one of the reasons I enjoyed the CA tour so much. Breaking it up into 3 shorter solos breathed new life into them.
  6. Alex is there too (sitting with a hot brunette btw).
  7. I always loved his Star Wars/Darth Vader bit.
  8. Evolution of music sales: 1. Pay a lot 2. Pay a little 3. Pay anything 4. OK fine, just pay once a month 5. f**k you, now you own a U2 album
  9. It's already available in the bonus material on BTLS and TMT.
  10. Both videos are on the Chronicles DVD.
  11. I think it may be from the bonus features section on RiR. It most certainly is! No. It is from the bonus features on BTLS, not Rio.
  12. Alex was there too, a few seats down from Geddy.
  13. I thought Jay Baruchel's was the best one yet. "You're welcome, internet. Go F**k yourself!"
  14. One thing to note: The Xanadu clip is on the R30 DVD but not on the R30 Blu-Ray. Just a heads up. Closer To The Heart is on the Chronicles DVD.

    Vibrato

haha The longer I am here, the less I realize I know. In fact, the longer I am here, the more I am finding out how very little I do know about music. I used to think I had good taste in music, but how can someone who knows nothing about music know good music when she hears it? Or fully appreciate it? Your opinion counts as much as anyone else's. I don't think knowledge of music is a prerequisite for appreciating music. Knowing musical theory and technique does not make one more qualified to judge what is good music.
  16. I believe it's supposed to be a spoof of Neil. It's not actually him but a caricature of him. Part of that Spinal Tap humour.

    A Show Of Hands DVD

Interesting...I thought the exact opposite. For me, ASOH really brought those songs alive (especially Territories).
  18. I'll throw in another vote for The Tea Party - my second favourite Canadian band.

  23. And you believe that? That's what he said in BTLS, but right after that he said "but I thought we would work it out". It was quite clear that the firing came as a shock and he was far from "happy to leave".
