Merely Space
Fantastic! I remember watching this on MTV back in the day. Does anyone know if the 5 additional songs make it the complete concert? I'm also looking forward to what they do with the rerelease of The Unforgettable Fire, their best album IMO.
ReRushed
Cool. I'll probaby buy it for nostalgic reasons. Ah, the days of my youth!

GeddyRulz
"There's been a lot of talk about this next song. Lately, very very too much talk. This song is not a rebel song. This song is 'Sunday Bloody Sunday.'" QUOTE I'm also looking forward to what they do with the rerelease of The Unforgettable Fire, their best album IMO. Lately, I've been listening to The Unforgettable Fire almost daily. I'm really into it. It's not technically challenging or "rocking" (only two uptempo songs really), but it's arty, abstract, ambient, and atmospheric. It creates such a mood. I love it, and I can't explain it... I think it has to be felt. After the success of War, the band knew they had creative reign to do anything. And rather than make War II and take over the world a'la Led Zeppelin in the 70s, they went in a different direction and made art instead. Good for them! ReRushed
QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Aug 13 2008, 09:25 PM) Lately, I've been listening to The Unforgettable Fire almost daily. I'm really into it. And rather than make War II and take over the world a'la Led Zeppelin in the 70s, they went in a different direction and made art instead. Good for them! They waited to take over the world ala Led Zeppelin with The Joshua Tree! Hey, are you implying that Led Zeppelin didn't create art? Also, U2 started selling out arenas on The Unforgettable Fire tour. I saw them at MSG and it's still one of the best concerts I've ever attended. The Unforgettable Fire is disjointed and unfocused, but it works, overall, because of Eno & Lanois' production. I think War is as much "art" as The Unforgettable Fire, not that that's what you meant. Mystic Slipperman
hmmm... I guess the 2CD version was a misprint. Still, it'll be great to finally have the concert! I'll probably just buy the DVD since I've got my original LP, still in great shape.
