I've been playing quite a bit of Mario Party 6 with a friend... Also some Ikaruga... Desperately looking for a fun game to play alone.

A fun game to play alone? That could be anything!

Borderlands 2.

Haven't played it in ages but damn it's a hell of a fun game.

Still have my one level 49 Commando in TVHM but getting there I guess.

Was able to farm an Infinity pistol and Hellfire SMG the other day which was cool. Usually I don't farm for weapons in that game but I got sick of having my ass handed to me all the time lol.

Borderlands 2 is tons of fun, though my fondest memories are with the first one. My friend and I co-oped the entire game together and did all of the side missions. I played Roland while he played Brick. Throw down the turret, equip the Atlas combat rifle, and watch my friend charge in with berserk as we mow them down.

I had the best luck while playing last night. I was running story missions in TVHM and at the end of "The Once and Future Slab" w/ Slab King aka Brick I found my first legendary soldier class mod in that red chest next to his throne. Was completely blown away.. the chest spawned with that and 3 green class mods. Even if it was "only" level 45, it's still way better than what I had before which was some Lawful Evil Ranger mod I got from one of the Tina Tina DLC areas a long time ago.

I checked it out online and even though it's stats aren't that great, apparently the best way to get these is from farming Terramorphious or some other end game super impossible raid bosses I'll never beat solo. So to find it in a regular chest like this is probably akin to finding a Zod rune in Diablo 2 under the first pile of rocks outside of the Rogue Encampment :D

Now as far as raid bosses go, I HAVE killed Hyperious the Invincible and Pyro Pete a few times a couple of levels ago- but this was on regular non-TVHM and they were almost impossible still. I really want to get some seraph crystals to buy stuff at the shop in Torgue's badass crater zone but apparently you can only get them from killing raid bosses in TVHM or UVHM. Blah. Guess I'll keep levelin'!

I like Dig Dug

When I was little and they had arcades (do they still even have arcades??) Dig Dug, Galaga, and Joust were my favorite games ever.

And Ms. Pac Man.

But NOT Tempest, that sucked.

Killed the Sorcerer's Daughter in Bordelands 2 and in the dice chest in the next room rolled two 20's and inside was.....

A LEVEL 50 AKURATE MADHOUS!

A legendary machine gun whose bullets randomly change directions. I never heard of this before and apparently it sucks lol.

Oh well, it looks cool enough.

I took my lvl 52 commando back to Normal mode and fought the Ancient Dragons of Destruction raid bosses to farm for Eridium (still died too many times on those, how embarrassing haha).

Anyhow, managed to get my first Seraph weapons ever which was really awesome. Two Stingers (one with a double shot, woo hoo) and an Omen shotgun. They're only level 38 which I think is the highest that can drop from these guys in Normal. No way in hell I'd be able to solo these things in TVHM which sucks but what are you gonna do?

Downloaded the Tale of Two Wastelands mod for Fallout 3/New Vegas. Since they're both made from the same engine, some modders combined the two games into one giant game. Basically, New Vegas absorbed Fallout 3 and gave it all the gameplay upgrades, like survival, new guns and ammo, etc.

Starting out in Vault 101, conquering the Capital Wasteland, and New Vegas with one character is awesome :haz:

Fallout 3 is my favorite game of all time, and adding it with New Vegas, which isn't bad but not nearly as great, makes for endless hours of fun.

Witcher 3 is jaw-dropping. It's one of those games you can just get totally lost in.

How is it in comparison to Witcher 2? I started it a while ago, and it was OK I guess but picking up materials on the ground had a lousy mechanic that required pinpoint accuracy. Also they seemed to try to toss in porn at every opportunity for the hell of it. I don't mind a mature game but it seemed forced to pander to the 17 yr old male crowd.

Witcher 2 is merely good. This is spectacular. Way bigger world to explore, tons more quests, engaging characters, great dialogue, incredible scenery/graphics, captivating soundtrack. And all the quests are unique and well-written, nothing seems extraneous. If you're worried about maturity then I think you'll dig this game. Unlike other RPG games where you're trying to save the world and be the big hero, in this one you're just looking out for yourself and the people you care about in a morally gray world. You have to make a lot of significant choices, each of which can end up affecting the ending (there are 36 different endings!) But yes, there is some nudity but only if you make the choices that lead to that situation.

The only criticisms I have of it are the combat system, which is good but doesn't really distinguish itself from other RPG games, and the swimming mechanic which is very clunky. Otherwise, it's a superb game that's likely to be my GOTY.

Also, take a look at this article. I think it answers your question better than I did. http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2015/05/21/why-the-witcher-3-is-so-much-better-than-the-witcher-2-so-far/

That's a great article! I too remember that the whole tutorial I had no idea what I was doing and they sort of just threw these enemies at you with no real pause: Kill this one with fire, LIKE THIS NOW HURRY! And that one with a bomb trap, GO GO GO!

Thanks!

Just finished Shadow of the Colossus, and if you haven't played it you need to. It is poetry. Completely immersive and breathtaking.

Switching between Doom 3 BFG Edition and the Mass Effect franchise at the moment. May throw Majoras Mask in the Wii tonight for a change of pace.

I could never get into MM, though I really wanted to like it and in fact even bought that N64 memory add on that the game needed in order to display the graphic textures correctly (anybody remember that thing?) My main problem was that it put a time limit on my exploration, which I feel (as a player and also as a game designer) is a big no-no.

I've always been more partial to the old 2d Zeldas like the NES original, AoL, and LttP but OoT and WW were really good too. WW's art style is my favorite of them all now that I think of it. Kiddie my ass!

Just think of it as a game that's all epic boss fights. If you've ever played Dragon's Dogma (which if you haven't, I suggest you try) it has some of the same mechanics like climbing on the monsters and stabbing them and etc.

Playing an obscure game called .hack//G.U. vol. 1//Rebirth as per a friend's suggestion. If the title wasn't enough of a turn off, I'm racing through as fast as possible because it's so boring and repetitive. Sorry, Natalie :/

Ocarina of Time was my favorite, I just love MM because of the theme. When you look at the back story its a very emotional and depressing game which makes it even better considering the lack of voice actors and narration. As far as time limit goes, you can always play the song of time backwards and essentially get 6 days worth of exploration time.
