invisible airwave
Office Space - yeeeeeeeeeaaaahhh, that would be greeaaaaat. Sin City - like a freeway accident you can't avoid looking at. That movie is a huge cult hit now, though. Blow Out - Travoltas best pre Pulp Fiction performance.

Rutlefan
^^ I saw this in the theater when I was young. Loved it but over the years forgot what it was called or who was in it. Would occasionally ask if someone had seen "that movie where these guys had to transport this nitro glycerine...?" but no one ever knew the movie. Thanks! I'Il have to pick this up.
Rutlefan
Reign of Fire. Christian Bale, the guy from Interstellar in an uncharacteristic role, (my) favorite ex Bond girl Izabella Scorupco, and dragons.
Rutlefan
John Carter. Would have been better if they had named it John Carter of Mars; then people not in the know (if they hadn't read the Burroughs books) would have had some small clue of what it was about. And the writers unnecessarily complicated the plot with attempted political intrigue (if it's not intriguing, and it wasn't, it's just complicated dullness, like in the awful Phantom Menace). Like Reign of Fire, by no means a great movie, but certainly better than any movie receiving the abuse thrown its way by smug and otherwise useless critics (if you can't do then just criticize what other people do... small people love to pile on a loser).

Yeah, there was a few years in the early 2000s where you couldn't turn on cable tv without seeing Office Space on some channel. Which was a good thing though. Fordgalaxy
Another thread reminded me about a way underrated and really not very well known movie, Red State. Kevin Smith directed it, but it's nothing like any of his other movies.

I remember first seeing it on VHS and loving it .. But it takes on a whole new life now - esp with the Tangerine Dream soundtrack ... The recent bluray edition is killer And I totally agree on Reign Of Fire !!

Lucas
As a film by Polanski, it's unspeakably disappointing. October 23, 2004 | Rating: 1/4 Roger Ebert It's not only underrated, it's my favorite Polanski film http://img.moviepostershop.com/the-tenant-movie-poster-1976-1020195888.jpg

But the Goldsmith score is the best. Directors cut is the more complete movie.

MMCXII
Let's go in the opposite direction of the Overrated Movies thread. List good or great movies that don't get the praise you think they deserve. Here's my first: http://assets.hulu.com/shows/key_art_fear_and_loathing_in_las_vegas.jpg More later. I expect Lucas to go wild in here. Wicked movie! One of my favorites Check out Rango, there's a bunch of references to Fear and Loathing.. Obviously, the movie couldn't put everything from the book in it but it WAS pretty faithful to the source material. Will remember to check out Rango
