troutman
As Eagle mentioned, melatonin can be very helpful- it was for me. I used to take 3 mg and then my Dr. told me that people with trouble sleeping can take up to 9 mg, so I do. You have to remember to take it about 45-60 minutes before you want to fall asleep; it takes a little while to work. It has been very helpful! The only problem is I forget once in a while, then I am staring at the ceiling going, "I haven't felt like this since I forgot my melatonin at the beach . . . .oh . . . shoot . . " but it works then too, I am just lazy to get out of bed! http://i425.photobucket.com/albums/pp338/plantfan40/images_9.jpeg Yep, Works for me.
Crimsonmistymemory
These days if I have trouble falling asleep I take 1 benadryl it really works well  for me and others I have talked to with the same occasional problems. However if you want a more natural solution try some sleepy time tea, which is usually a chamomile blend. I personally like Egyptian chamomile which can be found at Teavana if you have one near by. Fred Star
Have a chat with your Doc' as he is sure to have a solution, if not on the spot he can refer you to someone in that particular field to see to it so that if you can't overcome it you can at least manage it . Having trouble myself (have done for years) and i don't take any prescription Med's for fear of addiction, so, go see your G.P. Segue.

Blue Barchetta
Quite a few people use melatonin to help them sleep. It's all natural and worth a try if you've never used it. I use it with some success.I am a dreamer. All night every night. While melatonin did help with sleep, it stepped the dreams up a few notches too. The scary kind of weird dreams. Like taking LSD while you sleep. Not for me although I am sure it depends on the person.Did you have the dream? Or did the dream have you?

Mara
Wish I had something useful to add. I sleep like a log, but that's partly due to the meds I take for depression. I never found much use for melatonin, but it does seem to work for a lot of people. I never understood why the phrase "sleep like a baby" is a simile for sleeping well. What, you woke up every 2 hours wet, hungry and screaming? Doesn't sound very restful to me.
