Principled Man Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Stenson's in trouble to the left of the green, and Phil has a eagle putt. It's going down to the wire!!

Principled Man Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Heartbreaking eagle miss for Phil That one hurt more than his lip-out putt on 18 on Thursday..... 1

Principled Man Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 It is only fitting that Henrik Stenson finish his Open Championship with yet another brilliant birdie putt! Final score of 63, -20 for the Tournament. :ebert: Phil, you played some of the best golf of your career. 999 times out of 1,000, you WIN. What a shame for you, but you were still smiling at the end. You played GREAT. 1
alphseeker Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 (edited) glad i taped this amazing final. Can't wait to watch it. third place 11 shots back??? Man these two guys were on fire. Thrilled for Stenson equally as happy for Phil, he has nothing to be regretful for shooting a 65. :notworthy: Edited July 17, 2016 by alphseeker 1
g under p Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I called the Swede's final putt.....that was some riveting old school golf.
Principled Man Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 (edited) I called the Swede's final putt.....that was some riveting old school golf. The way he was putting, it was a sure bet!! :D :D TEN birdies and two bogies, with the second bogey being a lip-out. He put on a putting clinic. Phil had NO bogies, but that 2nd eagle putt was just an inch away, and a couple of good birdie putts just didn't go. Game of inches..... Edited July 17, 2016 by Principled Man
alphseeker Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 I laught reading some of the comments on ESPN concerning Phil. Calling him a cheater and choker. He's won 5 majors and came in second 11 times. Idiots.

Also the Swede just missed disaster by 15 inches with nearly missing that fairway bunk hole......it is truly a game of inches
