Pop songs but beautiful pop. Edited February 11, 2016 by blueschica

Of the three songs you mentioned, I think my favorite is "Go Where You Wanna Go," but I loved them all!
The Analog Cub
The Beatles did Revolver. I'm not a Beatles fan really, but that was definitely one of their better ones.
Lorraine
Yop, and music was never the same. We never heard the pop Beatles again. With every new album they came out with, music was forever changed, and all of the other bands followed suit.

What a fine album and a constant staple in my house growing up.
The Cat 3
If you had to say that there is one album the truly changed your life, it would be "Pet Sounds" for me. The album is just flawless in every way possible.

Lorraine
And that song - Are You Experienced? - that was the first time I remember hearing a guitarist do what I have since come to love (Alex did it during Working Man in LA) - holding the guitar strings down at the base of the arm while playing which produces a "scrubbing" sound. I don't know what it's officially called, but that's how it sounds.
J2112YYZ
Oh good we're on to 1966 now, so I can talk about Aftermath from The Rolling Stones. They were a solid band up to this point but Aftermath is the album where they really put it all together and came out with a sure fire classic. Paint It Black is one of my favorite songs from them and if I was in a band this would be the song I would cover all the time. Lady Jane is a lovely ballad and I think it's underrated by the band since it's rarely played live. Overall, it's a great blues influenced rock album and it was the start of more great things to come from the band over the course of the next several years.
Lorraine
Lady Jane is on two albums - Flowers and Aftermath. My favorite song on Aftermath was Going Home. Still would be I guess. Edited February 11, 2016 by Lorraine
Lorraine
I forget about Brian Jones. It's been so very long already since he died. Says he played the harpsichord on Lady Jane. I wonder what the truth is about what happened to him

Flowers was a compilation album of various non album singles and other unreleased songs. I'm not sure why Lady Jane was on it since Aftermath came out first.

The Cat 3
“In the ‘60s, definitely the most innovative time in the history of rock ‘n’ roll or radio, they’d play everything and the DJs were hip people that turned us onto The Beatles and people like that. Nowadays the DJs couldn’t care less and radio is totally sterile.” –Joey Ramone Edited February 12, 2016 by ReGorLaTroy
ReRushed
Lady Jane is on two albums - Flowers and Aftermath. My favorite song on Aftermath was Going Home. Still would be I guess.Discussing music is so funny. I listened to Aftermath last night and my main criticism is the inclusion of "Goin' Home". I enjoy a lot of long songs but "Goin' Home" is not one of them. I think Aftermath would be a better album without 11 minutes of extraneous blues noodling. The Cat 3
For me the list has to start with the debut album by The Doors... ...one of the best debuts in rock history, in my opinion.
