"If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears"- yeah, but we always called it the bathtub album or the "Monday, Monday" album! :P

I still love their harmonies and this album has the priceless "Monday, Monday", "California Dreamin'" and "Go Where You Wanna Go." Pop songs but beautiful pop.

They did sing beautiful harmonies. Of the three songs you mentioned, I think my favorite is "Go Where You Wanna Go," but I loved them all!

:goodone: That album is way at the top of my list, perhaps even 2nd place. What a fine album and a constant staple in my house growing up.

Also, ReRushed, you are so right about "Blonde on Blonde"...listening to right now. The guitar on "Leopard Skin Pill Box Hat" is insane! And that song - Are You Experienced? - that was the first time I remember hearing a guitarist do what I have since come to love (Alex did it during Working Man in LA) - holding the guitar strings down at the base of the arm while playing which produces a "scrubbing" sound. I don't know what it's officially called, but that's how it sounds.

Oh good we're on to 1966 now, so I can talk about Aftermath from The Rolling Stones. They were a solid band up to this point but Aftermath is the album where they really put it all together and came out with a sure fire classic.

Paint It Black is one of my favorite songs from them and if I was in a band this would be the song I would cover all the time. Lady Jane is a lovely ballad and I think it's underrated by the band since it's rarely played live.

Overall, it's a great blues influenced rock album and it was the start of more great things to come from the band over the course of the next several years.

Lady Jane is on two albums - Flowers and Aftermath.

My favorite song on Aftermath was Going Home. Still would be I guess.

Flowers was a compilation album of various non album singles and other unreleased songs. I'm not sure why Lady Jane was on it since Aftermath came out first.

I forget about Brian Jones. It's been so very long already since he died. Says he played the harpsichord on Lady Jane.

I wonder what the truth is about what happened to him

Never read the book but "Who Killed Christopher Robin"

Custom, are you saying that's a fiction book based on Brian Jones?

“In the ‘60s, definitely the most innovative time in the history of rock ‘n’ roll or radio, they’d play everything and the DJs were hip people that turned us onto The Beatles and people like that. Nowadays the DJs couldn’t care less and radio is totally sterile.” –Joey Ramone

Discussing music is so funny. I listened to Aftermath last night and my main criticism is the inclusion of "Goin' Home". I enjoy a lot of long songs but "Goin' Home" is not one of them. I think Aftermath would be a better album without 11 minutes of extraneous blues noodling.

Yes, it is. I can be more productive during the day not wasting 11 minutes listening to "Goin' Home"!
