Ive got quite a few....but may be absent for a bit

Send them to me and if I have 1. Heard of them and 2. Like them I will post them on your behalf. So far considering the entire list the chance of number 1 happening is about 50/50... Edited by Narps

561. David Gilmour - same (New_World_Man)

562. Journey - Escape (Narps)

563. The Ventures - The Ventures In Space (Lucas)

Instrumental, surf and guitar music from the 1960s is a pleasure to listen to for me ... I really like The Ventures, and what they were doing with these compositions and some primitive equipment created a fantastic vibe .....

To me, The Ventures In Space is a sort of groundbreaking album because it set the stage for creating an otherworldly vibe

559. Todd Rundgren's Utopia - RA (Self-Indulgence)

Give this one a listen if you love progressive rock. Utopia at their peak.

Actually, it's only the first Utopia album that has Todd Rundgren's name in the title(as the band name). The band at the time of this recording were just called "Utopia." If you don't mind, I will change it on future lists to reflect what the album says.

These have TR's name. from '75 & '74.

Ok, so we both made mistakes. :P

Yeah, I forgot about that one. By the time he put out "Ra" he had changed it to just Utopia. My guess is he initially wanted to bring in his fans of his solo work which was probably a smart move.

Apparently there's an album of previously unreleased demos and other things called "disco jets" from 2001.

It was a new version, so he just called it Utopia.

In 1976 Todd condensed the band down to a four piece. On RA, and before,Todd was still writing all of the lyrics and 75% of the music. The three others guys(Willie, Kasim and Roger) were getting more writing credits on OWP. By the time 'Adventures In Utopia' came out in 1979 , it's was a four way split on the writing. Each of the other members were getting their own songs on the records now. Especially Kasim. I think as the 80's went on,Todd wanted to make a TV show out of it.

566. In Flames - Colony (djflex)

567. Pretenders - Learning to Crawl (goose)

Chrissy Hynde is probably my favorite female rock vocalist. She has such great tone and a beautiful vibrato. This particular album is a monster, with Chrissy in top form and the band offering top notch performances. Back on the Chain Gang, Middle of the Road, Show Me, My City Was Gone, 2,000 Miles, Thin Line Between Love and Hate... Anyone that biughts this album got more than their money's worth.

I need to check and see if it's on the first 500. If not...what an oversight.

568. New Clear Days --the Vapors

I think I'm turning Japanese.

569. Cheech & Chong - Los Cochinos (Self-Indulgence)

I love Cheech & Chong albums. Great stoner comedy. Also, the song 'Basketball Jones' is on this one. George Harrison, Billy Preston, Carol King and others have musical credits. Lou Adler produced it. Long live Cheech & Chong!

570. Utopia - Adventures in Utopia (New_World_Man)

I'm admittedly not familiar with the other(earlier) Utopia albums on this list. I did hear their very first album once though(it was lent to me by a very big fan of Todd Rundgren a long time ago). Anyway, I've always liked this one and had it on cassette when I was a teen. It's not as consistently prog sounding as their earlier albums but there is certainly a prog flavor on a few tracks especially "Caravan." This one is rather eclectic and even features a little bit of disco on one track if I remember right and another one with Queen sounding vocal harmonies. Don't let the disco thing put you off though since this is a very, very good and enjoyable album for open minded rock fans. The best tracks are "last of the new wave riders(an under-rated song if ever there was one), "Caravan", "set me free,""rock love," "the very last time" and "the road to Utopia." The whole album is great though.

December 27th 1979 in the release date. It sounds like an eighties album, though.

Todd has a winter tour planned. Kasim is in the band. The drummer is Prairie Prince of The Tubes. I've seen them once. Although they don't play much Utopian stuff. They were still great to see live. I'm sure you've seen TR, beings you live near his home town.

Actually no, I've never seen Todd solo. I saw Utopia open for the Tubes in 1985( at the college I would attend four and a half years later). This was in NY(where I am originally from and used to live). I was fifteen(and had yet to see either Rush or Yes in concert). Anyway, both bands were great. The only thing I remember about Utopia was the drummer had a rotating drum set. That was the only time I've seen Utopia. I've seen the Tubes twice. Edited by New_World_Man

I was thinking about comedy albums, and there's a few that I listened to a lot as a kid.
