New_World_Man
It's good to see Pat Metheny on the list. I saw him about five years ago on the Orchestrion tour. I went with my dad and step mother. They were rather disappointed but I actually liked it. He's a great musician and composer.
ReRushed
386. Greatest Hits - Sly & the Family Stone (ReRushed) I'm not one for greatest hits compilations. Albums, as intended, are my preference. But, every so often, there is a greatest hits compilation that is as coherent a listening experience as a proper album. This is one of them. Probably the best of them. At their peak, this band was as good and original as anyone.

Lucas
384. American Garage - Pat Metheny (ReGorLaTroy) The first jazz album I ever purchased and still love it to this day. In fact, just picked up the SHM version a few months back. My parents took me to see Pat a number of times starting back in 1981 - I went in thinking I was going to be bored, but I loved him ... We saw him in Princeton around '82, and got to meet bassist Steve Rodby - he was super nice, esp considering I was like 14 and firing musical questions at him left and right
New_World_Man
We saw him at Baker Hall at the Zoellner arts center in Bethlehem PA(Lehigh campus). I saw the Alan Parson's Project there around the same general time period.

This band only existed for 4 years but they recorded 5 studio and proper live album during its time. Nelson still has a recording career doing it on his own terms and he is still going strong. This album represents the peak of this bands abilities but they had at least one masterpiece in them.

Not a jazz fan but I am a fan of Pat since the Pat Metheny Group album. Put on song: San Lorenzo on a snowy day and you'll know what I'm talking about. Saw him a few times in small clubs in NYC on the early 80's. Water Colors is a great album too.
