Simon and Garfunkel- Hazy Shade of Winter

"Look around

Leaves are brown

And the sky

Is a hazy shade of winter"...

My favourite part of that song is when they yell (in harmony), "It's the springtime of my life!"

And I remember when that used to be true, for me.

I love that song, and when I think of it, my memory is dark, which is to say that it was the start of "dark" times. The same thing happens when I hear Eve of Destruction in my mind. It was the beginning of the end of "innocent" times and the prelude of what would begin to usher in what culminated in the present.

That was a mouthful.

How could we forget The Association?

Windy

Along Comes Mary

Everything That Touches You

Cherish

And The Lettermen:

When I Fall in Love

Goin' Out of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes Off You

Put Your Head on My Shoulder

True...it was just before some uproarious changes.

I listened to a live set of theirs last week that I have from Carnegie Hall, January of '67, and it refers to that (not specifically in relation to that song, but just the change that was so soon to come in general) in the liner notes.

:musicnote: Time time time

see what's become of me

as I looked around

at my possibilities

I was so hard to please.... :musicnote:

The lyrics are from memory, and I don't know if they are even correct, but they just came into my head, and I thought how applicable to me they are.
