Lorraine
Simon and Garfunkel- Hazy Shade of Winter "Look aroundLeaves are brownAnd the skyIs a hazy shade of winter"... My favourite part of that song is when they yell (in harmony), "It's the springtime of my life!" And I remember when that used to be true, for me. I love that song, and when I think of it, my memory is dark, which is to say that it was the start of "dark" times. The same thing happens when I hear Eve of Destruction in my mind. It was the beginning of the end of "innocent" times and the prelude of what would begin to usher in what culminated in the present. That was a mouthful.

True...it was just before some uproarious changes. I listened to a live set of theirs last week that I have from Carnegie Hall, January of '67, and it refers to that (not specifically in relation to that song, but just the change that was so soon to come in general) in the liner notes.

Lorraine
http://www.amazon.com/The-Best-Simon-Garfunkel/dp/B00002MZ41/ref=pd_sim_15_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1M168CQ2A73QBFVF0ZVZ I was just listening to snippets from the songs off of this album. It makes me so mad what they've done to the songs. Nothing sounds the way it used to.

Lorraine
I just heard that Paul Simon song in a store last week. Always makes me laugh. Remember well "Stuck In The Middle With You", or, as I used to think they were singing "Stuck in a riddle with you."
