RUSHHEAD666
I figured since this is the last tour of the greatest band in the world that I should rewrite one of the greatest songs ever made that the band never plays! Here ya go! You can label me a drunk or a whack job! I don't care! I'm fine. Here is my 2015 version of "Losing It." The Professor slows his frantic paceIn chronic pain and desperationHis aching limbs and downcast faceAglow with Ego and perspirationStiff as wire, his lungs on fire (fuckking smoker)With just the briefest pauseThe flooding through his memoryThe echoes of old applauseAnd he whimpers across his R40 KitAnd waits for August 1st so he can go home and sit. Geddy stares into the crowd with glassy eyesDefies another empty bass lineHis hair is jet black but it is dyedHis face is lined and streaked with sadnessYet he holds back his "Tears" for every Rush fan Who is about to cry. 40 years ago how this band would growWith passion and precisionNow the band is dark and dulledBy arthritis and indecision And Geddy stares out his kitchen door"Between Sun and Moon" Rush will rise no moreSome are born to move the worldTo live out our realitesBut most of us just dream about The things we'd like to be Sadder still to watch it dieThan never to have known itFor you, the three blind mice whoOnce could seeThe bell tolls for theeBell tolls for For you, the three blind mice who Once could seeBell tolls for theeBell tolls for theeBell tolls for you three............. Written by Earl Ramer Copyright 2015 Original lyrics by Lee, Lifeson Peart The end is near for our boys. Fuckingg sucks ass.

Jeffrey
Losing It simply asks the question; is it better to have something and lose it rather than never known it at all. It's an interesting question but in the case of Rush, any fan would much rather lose the band now than never to have known it. In some respects, it's not like it is gone forever, I get that. I realize you're just having fun with the play on words but I find it hard to "dedicate" the term "Losing It" to a band that is surprisingly still putting out the most energetic and quality performances of their career.

H to O
Personally, I'd lost all interest in this song until now. I think Rush could use more of a whack job spin on their tired old lyrics. Very well done! The only part I'm struggling with is the "fuckking smoker" part. Is this a spoken word part injected in like "subdivisions" in a low voice? Or is it screamed in a high pitch like "listen" from Didacts and Narpets? Is Alex the one that would cover this part live, or would it be Neil? It would have to be someone besides Geddy considering where it falls vocally. I'm just trying to imagine how they would pull this off. Thanks again though. These new lyrics bring new life to this song that it sorely missed! Bravo!!!
Rod in Toronto
Earl, if you redo the lyrics to Neurotica and Dog Years maybe those two would have a chance of being played live. Wanna give it a try?

fraroc
I don't even want to try to not be depressed over Rush and all my favorite bands ending. I accept that the remaining 70 some odd years of my life will be nothing but misery. I'm watching it die and I know it damn well. For me, the sad that once was glad..... The bell tolls for me. TemplesofLamneth
I hope this is pure humor and not cynicism. I just discovered these guys 2 years ago, their visit in Bristow, Va was my first Rush show. After hearing the talk of these rumors turned confirmed facts about retirement, I am a bit depressed myself. But considered 41 years of drug free, noble and honest rock and roll these guys have deserved their retirement. Give em a break, they're at the normal retirement age. Regardless of how much they've affected and touched our lives, let them rest, THEY'VE EARNED IT!!!

RUSHHEAD666
Indeed... :( Narps! IT TOTALLY FUCKKING SUCKS! My dad I and were going to Vegas to see Rush but our company is struggling. Sucks. So instead I am going alone to Los Angeles. I am driving down to Irvine. Then taking a day off at the beach and then going to the LA Forum show. I have my San Jose tickets so my goal will be to still hit 60 shows since 1984. Not bad for a Rush Fanatic even though I have met Rush fans around the world who have seen them over one hundred times! Life is short! RUSH ON!

I know my writing can be over the top or flat out strange but I am a Rush Realist. I have been in love with the band since 1980; My heart is breaking in my marriage. My heart is racing with stress at my business, and my favorite band of all life is ending. It's one shit fukked up year. Too bad I won't be around in the year 2112. Perhaps that will be a blessing. :)
