dtpoet
The last time around, the Pittsburgh show had a dismal attendance. By comparison, Buffalo was a sell-out. Pittsburgh has always had a visit from them; sometimes hitting the Burgh for both legs of a tour. Buffalo missed out on Time Machine Tour, so I think Buffalo is getting I just desserts this time. The Buffalo show on the last tour was also on a Friday which no doubt helped with the sell out. This year the show is on a Wednesday, so I don't expect a sell out but I do think they'll get a good crowd like they usually do here. It does make sense for them to skip Pittsburgh if attendance was bad for them last time they played there. I dont think the day of the week really matters. It was hours after I first the Newark date that I happened to notice it was on a Friday. IDK. Maybe it doesn't matter to only a small minority. Shows that are on a friday, saturday or sunday are going to draw better than a show scheduled in the middle of the work week for a lot of people. Especially if they have to travel and need to try and get the time off from their job. It's much easier for a lot of people to go to a weekend show where they don't have to worry about missing work. zappafrank
Here's an article that just popped up about the Cleveland omission. There is a line in there by the author saying that Live Nation said a Cleveland stop was not being planned at this time.
upstateNYfan
Guessing because they were disappointed last time, and waiting a while longer makes more sense.
Mr. JD
Made hotel reservations around the second Toronto date. My daughter and I feel the need to see them there. The timing of the show couldn't be better for both of us. Step 2 will happen next week when I go apply for my passport.
softfilter
Why do you think it was down? I think it was a touring frequency issue. I just seem to recall a lot of the talk on here being about how surprised some people were at how a lot of the venues had section tapered off, seats moved from higher up to lower bowl (which happened to my group in Pittsburgh). People were pointing at touring frequency as a potential reason, but overall (couple years removed from Time Machine) and not necessarily oversaturation of specific markets. Many were whining about the set list on Clock Work Angels tour also as a reason for not going.. Personally I loved it!

People knowing the setlist ahead of time has very little impact on attendance. 95 percent of the people going to a concert do not look up the setlist before they go. With Rush fans being so dedicated, the percentage of fans knowing the set before the show is probably a little bit higher but certainly not enough to kill the attendance significantly for most shows. There is a line in there by the author saying that Live Nation said a Cleveland stop was not being planned at this time. The Clock Work stop at Cleveland only the lower bowl and floor sold out, but I guess they only had 10-11,000 available tickets for concert. So it was possible they considered it "sold out" The crowd that night had lukewarm enthusiasm for most of the show until the encore set 2112 etc... I enjoyed it immensely although surrounded in zombies... I'm not completely convinced that they will skip Cleveland and believe a second leg might emerge after a extended break from first. After all they did this sort of thing before, Time Machine believe Columbus was listed as the only Ohio stop ( possibly Cincinnati also can't remember) And then of course Cleveland was honored with being first US filmed release concert for the band. glennb2112
I live in Memphis and you can draw a huge circle on a map with a 300 mile radius and you won't find a show. Nashville always had a great crowd and Little Rock has a great venue. This really sucks!!!!!!!4 1/2 hr St Louis 285 miles5hrs 40 min to Atlanta 383 miles6hrs 10 minutes to New Orleans 395 miles

I skipped the last show in Grand Rapids, MI because It was a sunday and i'm a couple hours drive from the venue. It would have been a very late night, with having to go to work the next day.... i wasn't feelin' it. I had been to the show at the Palace few months prior, so i also didn't feel as though i was really "missing" anything besides seeing some of the peeps i've come to know over the years. This 'ole girls loves a good party ! :D I won't do the 1st toronto show for the same reason. it's a wednesday, a little more difficult to swing with work n all. that's a 4 hr drive minimum, so no way i'm driving up, doing the show and coming back home that night. The friday show though.... that's a little more doable, and i'm looking at trying to do that one. i can take the friday off, stay the night /weekend in toronto !!!
