  1. First time reliving that song since the Tampa show, absolute highlight of the second set! In response to an earlier post, im not so sure they aren't having fun, I think its more a focus because of the difficult material they chose to play this tour, not too many breathers in THAT set list. I have only seen one show but they were very animated, and reacting to the crowds energy which was very good that night, even got a few smiles out of you know who! Thanks for posting the vid!
  2. Some Rush fans are a trip, find crap to complain If you must, but the Tampa show was the best I have seen in 30 years of attending Rush shows. Memorial weekend show on the 24th of May...kind of appropriate they played LP! The crowds at the Tampa shows are always rowdy, this one rocked from from song one, highlight of he first set surprisingly was DEW, that song ROCKED, Animate a close second. The band played very well, and enthusiastic, including Mr.Peart who was witnessed smiling on several occasions. second set was a dream for this fan, and we got the extra song NS which was cool, Alex actually messed up the solo on TS, I guess we should have all gone home since they weren't perfect LOL. Xanadu was the highlight of the second set, the double necks were a nice surprise although I don't think Ged played both necks, Alex however sure did. Its worth noting that Alex used about 10 different very bad arse les pauls during the show, plus the obligatory Strat, and Tele. VERY COOL! Neils solo defied logic, even Ged led the crowd in an enthusiastic cheer after that one. Geds voice was quite good all night, including the 70s cuts, I cant say I have ever left a Rush show judging it by how well Ged sang, no he didn't sound like he did when he was thirty because.. well... hes not. The encore was incredible, if they had given me a pen and said pick four, I would have quickly wrote down LP, ANTH, WYD and maybe In The Mood instead of WM but Alex shredded that solo. Never thought TTM show would be topped, I was wrong. I prefer the outdoor AMP for shows, but THIS light show belonged indoors, and it seemed much louder which I liked, problem is if your not on floor seats (17th row center for me) the sound can suck which I heard from a couple people post show. How these three can still perform like that for 2 1/2 hrs with THAT set list boggles, it was pretty darn cool to see full blown proper old school arena rock show, you could see the band and crowd feed off each other, it was special night.
  3. This thread is hilarious, I realize Neil has established some pretty lofty standards but some of you should be embarrassed you hit "post" after writing some of these comments. I can only speak for myself but that was the best, most balls to the wall arse kicking RUSH show this 30+ year fan has ever seen! This wasn't CA with all the mellow synth stuff, this was one hard rock 7-10 minute song after another 7-10 minute song for 2 1/2 hours. Neils performance at the Tampa show I attended was extraordinary, and he was quite "animated" (couldn't resist). I had good seats 14th row, Alex and Neil are looking their age, Ged not as much. Actually Alex had a few flubs I noticed in Tampa but listening to him shred all those solos with one bad arse Les Paul after the other was incredible. And all those 70S songs so many doubters said Geddy couldn't sing anymore...he sang them quite well. Perhaps by the last show Neil was tired, sick, distracted, old, human, all the above. The encore alone was worth every penny, the only thing I have to say to ANY of the band and crew is thank you Rant over!
  4. I thought the same, one bad ass Les Paul after the other, and he shredded on every one of them!
  5. Did some bloke say Animate was a set killer?? Surely you jest mate!
  6. The Tampa show was EPIC! They rocked their balls off, and the crowed was the loudest I had ever seen/heard at a RUSH show. For all the Einsteins who for years have claimed that Geddy cant sing the "old stuff"...FAIL! For those of us that were there we wont soon forget everyone gathering on the 24th of May in Tampa!
  7. Have the wife air drum practicing to Anthem for the show tonight, how many of you slack jawed posers can claim that??
  8. Great thread! I still cant believe they are playing ANY part of LP, Geddy is on record saying he doesn't like the song. I couldn't be happier, its in the top 5 favs for me. The whole encore is EPIC. I hope they blow off some indoor fireworks during the song!! LOL
  9. I think they will play a second leg, doubt the only play 34 shows for R40. Ill say they are pretty set for this run, by we shall see. Stoked for the show Sunday in Tampa, been waiting a LONG time for some of the old songs they are playing!
  10. Holy mother of arse kicking setlists!! Now that's a rock show kiddies, if the boys handed me a pen and said "give us a list" the second set woud be it! Lakeside Park, Anthem, AND What Your Doing in an encore, are you fooking kidding me!! I hope they only play with set one as far as rotating, doubt they rotate JL but what the hell do I know. Maybe switch out Red B with another MP tune (although i hope not) and SOR with Freewill.
  11. They open with Anthem Final answer!
  12. I wondered the same when I saw the tour venues come out. Maybe they simply want to avoid the heat at this point in their careers, its already mid eighties in Fla. They haven't played the ice palace (indoor venue) here in Tampa since Vapor Trails tour. R30, S&A (twice), TM, and CA all played at the outdoor Amp. I prefer outdoor, Amphitheatres are built for concerts, stadiums are built for sports.
  13. Just got a notification yesterday that tickets have shipped for Tampa 5/24
  14. Just posted in another thread but my top two are Lakeside Park What Your Doing
