The Worst Rush Song

For me, it's Speed of Love, hands down.

I'm just going to take this moment to say that I actually loooooove Hand Over Fist. Rush at the top their game. Seriously.

Agree. It's a very good song with some nice sentiment that took a while to grow on me. The chorus is a little goofy I guess but not necessarily in a bad way (like DOG YEARS). Musically there's no complaints. A solid and underrated little tune.

Randomly choose a song on Counterparts, and you have a 60% chance of being right.

Animate

I saw this before putting my kids down for the night and thought I'd just respond "no". But then I heard the live version on Different Stages, and I think I've been vastly overrating this song. I have to listen to the studio version again, but it was not good at all.

Net boy, net girl

Send your impulse 'round the world

Put your message in a modem

And throw it in the Cyber Sea

Good one. I may have to change my mind. Its amazing that Time & Motion and Driven (2 songs I really like) were part of that CD, as most everything else was forgettable.

Hand Over Fist is one of my favorites from that CD. Presto was a welcome change from HYF and has many songs I like. I even like Available Light. Superconductor and Red Tide - not so much. And then they gave us Roll The Bones.

Anagram (For Mongo) is pretty bad and not one usually mentioned.

Generally gets around a collective C+ for effort.

Grade inflation.

I'm more inclined to think it's grade deflation.

Anything after Headlong Flight on CA... Sorry.... Had the album ended with that song it would have been kick ass... :outtahere:

:o

Wish Them Well kinda sucks, but it's nowhere near their worst song.

I would agree with this. Wish Them Well does suck. The Garden was interesting for about three or four times and then went to the bottom of the pile.

I'd say 5. But anyway...

Lou Gramm would be embarrassed to attach his name to the lyrics to Half the World.

I like "Half the World".

I think R.E.M. is a better comparison.

Half the World makes Stand look like W. H. Auden

I thought Stepen King was a decent writer?

It's cherry picking, but I agree. ;)

Face Up for me - just plain uninspired. How that song made the cut I do not know but I'm just going to blame Rupert Hine. Getting him back to produce RTB has got to be up there as one of the worst decisions made in the band's history I think.

I really like Face Up...

But I like The Big Wheel a lot better. And Dreamline. And Bravado is beautiful.
