  1. It's an absolutely understandable mental block. Somehow I doubt their parents were there. What fun would that be? :D Maybe that's how Carrie talks too.. "So... Will Geddy and Alex be bringing Nancy, and... What's her name??" :) It's just a joke, don't go all Bard or FOH on me! :P I think Geddy's Mom ROCKS! Not too sure about Alex's parents, though....
  2. Putting a candle in the window of sorts in hope of Leg 2!! (Now Rush related since it was in The Camera Eye vid on the Time Machine Tour!) :)http://technabob.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/a_christmas_story_leg_lamp.jpg
  3. Here's the new way to post thread titles: "Blah, blah blah... *****MAY CONTAIN SPECULATION***** :)
  4. Since the song is about the maiden voyage of the Columbia isn't it true that the boys stopped playing the song live when the shuttle tragically exploded in 1986? Yes, great point! I was going to say "Pretty hard to play that song after what happened to Columbia" and I wasn't even thinking about Challenger.....
  5. Couldn't he have just been going to get a shower and change his clothes? He's got to be really sweaty after the show. Do people think that he should stand out there for five minutes on stage bowing and waving or something? Just curious Because so many people seem to be cutting him down for some reason. I'm not cutting him down, EagleMoon... Hey... I LOVE Neil... He's the sole reason I became a drummer back in the early 80's!! When I went to Le Studio, I didn't sit in Geddy's spot playing Air Bass... I went to Neil's spot to play airdrums! (I didn't know in advance I'd be going that day, or I would have brought my sticks--Promark 747s of course! The official Neil Peart ones!) But it's just that I feel he REALLY doesn't want to do this anymore, and like toadbrother said, Geddy still has that fire burning in his belly... And Alex said it best, there's this tug, both ways in the band right now.... We're all speculating, and none of us are THEM... So no one knows... It's just my take on what I see... We're both musicians, we can identify to what it is to be in a band and all.... I've met Neil & Geddy once, Alex a few times.... Geddy is very reserved, Alex is your instant friend, and Neil, well... Just that... Was he sincere? Annoyed?? Let's say, at best he's "neutral"... I'm lucky, I got to meet him (on the band's request), others have not been as fortunate, or have had bad experiences.... As for that final wave, maybe he was just so happy that the tour went well, that he decided to do something impromptu, and we're all getting the wrong idea... Could very well be.... He's opened up a lot in the last few years... (A GOOD thing!!) Maybe those pics are just for his blog, (Or for Olivia!) and there is absolutely no meaning other than to immortalize the end of the tour.... Only time will tell..... There are a million Rush fans speculating everywhere this week.... All is well... We're just chatting among friends... Everyone can chime in on what they think, or see, or make out of it.... It's the final R40 goodbye's periscope thread of sorts!! :)
  6. I think it's very safe to assume Neil didn't cry. At all. Geddy, no - he is very disciplined. Alex - if any one of them would have, it would have been him, but I think he is in such pain with his hands that even though I think he felt very bad, he was relieved it was over. Look at the final song that's everywhere on Youtube.... Look at Geddy just jamming Garden Road in front of the stage looking into emptyness.... This is NOT a guy who's happy this is ending.... Look at Neil and his giddiness (No pun intended) leaving his kit the EXACT second the show ends, like a kid who just finished school... He COULDN"T wait to get out of there.... Look at his "bye bye!" and the way he bolts off the stage.... Look at Alex, standing there, not knowing what to do... Look at Geddy saying " "I" truly hope we'll see each other again".... Then taking a final look at the stage, heartbroken (And I think saying "Bye bye" to it)... (And the tap on the back from the roadie who probably knew how Geddy was feeling as he was handing him his bass) All the info we need is there..... The old expression goes "There wasn't a dry eye in the house" well, yes there were... TWO! Neil's eyes.... He was so happy to get out of there, I found it almost indecent.... I don't think we'll see Neil again.... Mosbach posted that "End Of The Road" pic after the show.... That Anderson guy's tweet... John Good... These are all people related to Neil (Don't think Al & Geddy have much of a relationship with any of those).... The only 2 people always saying in interviews that it's not the end are Geddy and Alex.... Someone wrote here on the board (Earl??) that Neil left the party pretty quick, while Geddy & Alex stayed 'til 2:30.... It's all there..... Geddy & Alex are on their own..... On another note, saw somwewhere that in recent weeks, some idiots went and broke every remaining thing at Le Studio (Exterior windows, etc...) I TRULY hope that Rush fans who visit that place aren't doing that stuff........... The stupid media went and talked about the whole thing this Spring... Well... They probably just ended up doing the building in......... Now every idiot in town will go and party and squat and break everything... Way to go....
  7. There's one scope I was happy to miss (Was at the cottage for the weekend)... I would have been unable to watch the whole thing.......... You mean the last one? I'm so glad I watched it. It was awesome, though it was sad afterwards. I'm just glad I could be there in some capacity. Yeah... Saturday night... I was pondering at the start of the tour, with the first few Periscopes what I would do for the last show... When I flipped the calendar to July and saw August 1st was a Saturday I was happy I didn't have to watch... My brother died on Dec 28 2013----Ever since then we've had to deal with the psycho he married, who basically has taken my Niece (9YO) and Nephew (6YO) away from my Dad & I... Watching my band "die" was a little too much and something that didn't need to add up to all the other stress of the past year and a half.... The tour was great and I was sooo HAPPY to enjoy all those scoping nights... But the last one, for now, was a little too much.... I'm hoping the whole show will pop up on youtube, I will download it, and watch it some other time, when things are better.... Just posting the last pic yto my FB page yesterday, when I got back was hard enough..... I certainly understand. But think of it this way, they're still here, they're still planning on making more music. It's not like they're gone or anything. Hopefully so.... But that little Neil act seemed pretty final as far as he's concerned... But I have no doubt Geddy will go on... Hopefully with the other 2! :) Well I think they're done with touring like they have been, but making more music together? I think it's a pretty sure thing. Honestly, I would take new music over another tour for the next few years! :)

  11. Well... It all started with Bob, and his girlfriend... La dancerista!.... I missed the last show, saw only a few songs from the majority of the last leg, but if Bob had an equal, it was Cactus Pete, who probably had to be nailed to a couple 2X4s to finish the Vancouver show... Thankfully, he appeared in the comments of a later feed on Periscope, so he did make it home OK... It was a great summer periscoping and joking around with all of you, especially the regulars, Tombstone, Rushbass, Eaglemoon, Gabriel, Toymaker and every one else who's name I forget! Let's hope we'll get to do it all agaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnn!!!!!! :)
  12. What's wrong with Geddy??? His voice is shot tonight....
  13. Saw The Court Of The Crmson King once, Live... Ringo & his All-Star Band, back in 2001... Ringo, Greg Lake, Rodger Hodgson, Howard Jones, Shelia E. Ian Hunter... Quite surreal! But maybe not as much as when all these fine folks went into Yeloow Submarine! :)
  14. Scopeless??NO worries... ♫ "I've got my own moral periscope to steer by... "♫ :)
  15. Give them a year, and they will all reconvene at the brand new refurbished Le Stu-Stu-Stu-dio! :)
  16. Knowing Neil, he'll probably go through New Mexico and back into Arizona and Nevada just to make the trip from Irvine to LA :)
  17. Maybe next Summer, on Geddy's solo Tour (Or with his new BAND!!!) :) :geddy:
  18. Note to self: Don't fart during One LIttle Victory :) :geddy:
  19. Watching Neil play on the second kit sounded like he was playing in a Vegas lounge with a plexiglass barrier placed in front of the kit. Sounded muddled and seemed the volume of the toms were turned down too low! I didn't like the gray shells either. The kit was cool but it seemed awkward? Was it set up like that for ergonomics? I don't follow. It was set up like his old kits. Am I missing something? Bottom line, I loved the concept of Neil bringing back the double bass and the tubular bells but man that kit just looked different to me as a drummer. So I thought the set up of the kit was more ergonomic for Neil to play than the real Seventies kick ass kit! Yeah... I hear you... It doesn't look the same... The angles are different.... But the main thing is, it sounded like CRAP! Especially the concert toms.... Like tupperware.... Kinda sad because it looks so cool, so "Right", and I applaud the idea.... But man.... That small gong bass drum sounded OK, though.... But it looks so strange and so THIN! Still waiting for the official specs on that thing! Hahaha! I don't know you but I love you! YOU NAILED IT!!! LOL!!! CRAP!!!! TUPPERWARE!! Perhaps RUSH will play on the Vegas Strip in two years! Neil will be playing behind a plexiglass sound wall! You will barely be able to hear him play! From the MGM Grand to some smokey lounge bar at HOOTERS! LOL! Of course I'm just fuckinng around but man who knows!!! Being a Rush Fanatic since 1980 I must tell it's not just the sound of the drums. I HATE THE BATTLESHIT GRAY SHELLS!! The first kit with the NP 40 is classy and KILLER!! JMO!!!! I love the black and gold bass drum head. FUKK I WANT ONE! CHEERS! Not into the gray shells too much either.... But I DO appreciate that he tried bringing back the old kit for the second set... It is what it is....

  21. Watching the shows on Periscope, I was eager to hear the R40 kits in person.... They sounded as bad in person as on the cheap videos sound... Watched my p/g bootleg the other night... The Red Tamas sounded glorious, even with that aweful sound of the boot..... My drumkit is essentially the red Tamas, refinished several times, and set up like Neil's current kit... I wouldn't trade them for one of his DW kits, 1500 year old log or not..... Actually, seeing the hockey kit, my first reaction was "Wow! Those toms are so TINY!!" I used to prefer the ESL kit (My kit was originally Mahogany), but now the reds are pretty much on top... Red Tamas, the ESL kit (No particular order) and the Roll The Bones kit make up my top 3.
  22. Freeze!!!!! Not sure Neil can or wants to count to 9, anymore......
  23. Glad to see Alex said the Arthritis is NOT The reason for his mistakes... Reading some posts here, you'd think they carry him out on a stretcher after every solo.... :P
