this made me laugh so much I thought I was gonna flood the bed!

Why doesn't a mod get rid of this one, eh? It's way more revealing and disgusting to boot. Double standard.

Why is it disgusting? Do overweight people offend you?

Not if they keep their clothes on and behave normally. I don't want to see some skinny guy doing that either. But if topless or even bathing suit attired women can't be shown for some prudish reason, why is that allowed?

Well, context. I don't think that anybody is getting a hard-on or a lady-boner looking at this, it's humorous and for laughs. Overweight people do not need to "keep their clothes on and behave normally."

Wow.

Do you have an issue with chubby girls in two piece swimsuits as well?

Depends on the level of chubbiness. Since it seems we can't post bikini clad women, it would be difficult to show examples but I certainly don't mind a woman that is considered full figured. But a woman that size of that guy^^^^^^, shouldn't be wearing a bikini any more than he should be wearing a speedo.

Be careful, you are on the verge of fat-shaming here. It doesn't matter if the target is male or female, if the video is done seriously or as a joke. It all comes down to if you are at all embarrassing or disgracing a person based on the size of their body then it is fat-shaming.

So what if a person is fat? No one says you have to like it. If you don't find this guy attractive because he's too heavy for you then fine. But once you start making fun of him for his weight then that is wrong. You have no right to tell someone what they can and cannot wear based on their size.

If you want to make fun of someone go over to the thread about the mankinis. Those guys brought it upon themselves.

Fat - shaming?

More PC BS! For example, I am lean/skinny. Have been all my life. I have had people kid/joke with me about it. Is there such a thing as Skinny - shaming?

That's not PC BS, when you tell somebody they shouldn't wear or do something because of their size, that is fat shaming. There is skinny shaming as well, yes and I think it can be just as hurtful. But we have to admit overweight people take the brunt of it from society.

Fat shaming

A term made by obese people to avoid the responsibility to actually take proper care of their body and instead victimize themself by pretending they're discriminated like an ethnic group. When confronted with someone like that they will ignore all the facts about obesity being unhealthy and pretend it's some sort of evil socially constructed conspiracy by teh patriarchy

Peter: "You've started gaining weight at a worrying level, maybe we could exercise together and take up a sport since you're always at home"

Bianca: "omg stop disciminating me you're just fat shaming, all my fat is genetics and exercising is just a social construct made by our sexist society, i'm not being brainwashed into ur shauvinistic world"

*Bianca then proceeds to eat burgers and refuses to better herself*

I am going to assume that this definition in the Urban Dictionary is not what we are talking about here.....

No, it's the opposite.

Say for example you're working out on a treadmill at the gym, doing the best you can and a super buff guy gets on next to you with his equally buff friend and says something like, "I like to workout next to the fat people, it keeps me more motivated."

Come on,

Really? Is that from a Seinfeld episode?

Nope, the jackass thought because I had my headphones in that I couldn't hear him.

Any time I see someone at the gym who is seriously overweight I think, "Good for them!" I know it took a tremendous amount of steely resolve for them to brave going in there. I'd love to offer some encouragement, but am never sure how that would be received.

There's a fifty-something-ish couple who belong there now and I've watched their progress over the past year. The wife has lost over 85 lbs (I overheard her telling someone) and the husband has dropped several sizes as well.

I've been fortunate enough to never see any making fun of either overweight or skinny people in the gyms I've been too. Au contraire mes amis! People who I would label as being buff assholes, where in fact very kind and encouraging. It's like they still remember what it was like starting out.

Agreed. There are quite a few folks (men and ladies) that have been going to my gym at least as long as I have. Its heartwarming to see their progress over the months. I have had people say something to me about my progress and I have from time to time said something to a few of them. Makes you feel wonderful to just think anyone is paying attention.... :)

Nice job of missing the point!

this made me laugh so much I thought I was gonna flood the bed!

Who says he's wearing a speedo? We can't see enough of him to tell if he's wearing anything.

No one said he was wearing a speedo. Someone was saying that people of his size shouldn't be wearing a speedo or he might get "fat shamed" THE HORROR!

BTW, each of us are the ONLY people responsible for our feelings/emotions. I'm a little heavy myself but I'm also able to handle it if someone mentions it. No one can shame me for anything unless I allow them to.

If you're fat, you're fat. Do something about it or learn to deal with the comments. As adults, I suspect those comments are pretty rare. Most of the "shaming" (not of the true) take place in jr high or high school when brains haven't fully developed and idiots don't have as much concern for those on the fringes and those on the fringes often don't yet have the capacity to deal with rude comments.

So if you make someone feel terrible about themselves that's their own responsibility? :eh:
