I think The River should have been higher on the list....... :sarcastic:

 

Aww...what a teaser!

 

Um...no it doesn't...I love it and all, but the party rock tracks are just...well...they led to Born In The USA. 'Nuff said. But the darker side of that album, sides C and D, now they are something else...I love it all, but no way is it number one anything!

They have released a few overlong albums...lol! Toto rule...you stop your niggling lol! I know you are singing Rosanna into your hairbrush while I type this...don't be ashamed.

This album is a monster that captures the era. Nice call! I remember making a tinfoil disco ball and spinning this album as a kid!

The White Album, when played start to finish, makes sense.

 

I also think the songs work perfectly individually. What does fascinate me, however, is how so many different types of music can feature on just album and, as you say, make sense.

 

Glass Onion, Revolution 9, Blackbird, Yer Blues, Goodnight, Helter Skelter, Don't Pass Me By and Julia all on one album? Absolutely amazing. Alongside Fleetwood Mac's equally schizophrenic Tusk, The White Album is my absolute favourite double album, and one of the most fascinating releases I have ever come across. Its just mental: creativity, genius and bravery collided to make it what it is, and a single album would not have done these fine musicians justice.

 

And the fact they were able to also throw Eric Clapton into the mix makes it even more noteworthy.

 

It's untouchable. It cannot be criticized. It pulls off every genre so perfectly, even if you don't love a few songs undoubtedly someone else will. All killer, absolutely NO filler!

The White Album is overrated. Largely one great record masquerading as two.

 

I understand this opinion regarding the White Album and never argue the point. It's a fun game to edit the album down to a single disc. With that said, personally, I love every second of the album. It's a listening experience I cherish.

A friend in high school had an original numbered version. i shoulda swiped it...

Agreed, but I think at the end of his career, on Cloud Nine, he got close.

You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you by the court. Do you understand these rights as I have read them to you?

Really? Other than Revolution 9 (which I don't think is really a "song" at all) I love them all. Give me a specific example.
