JBJ named as McDonald's AA..

Blackmon Jr. scored 22 points in a 57-53 loss to the Richmond Red Devils last night . I never seen a player guarded so close that they were facegurding at midcourt during free throws .

Veejay (his younger brother) had like 16 I think.

They should have given James half the gate as there was like 7000 in attendence.

So what class is Vijay in?

We certainly could use JBJ's outside shot this year!

MSU is going to lose to a Georgetown team that's lost 5 in a row in the new Big East...

Not a good sign for the Big Ten.

He's a sophomore.

My daughter commented on how JBJ didn't miss any free throws , I told her don't worry he will when he gets to IU. ;)

Syracuse-Duke playing a classic right now! OT after the Duke buzzer beater.

Watching it. For once a game is living up to the Dickie V level hype.

Master of hyperbole. I like how he called out the Super Bowl. :D

Intentional with 9.4?

They made the right call. Great game. Time tp start paying attention to college hoops, with the Tourney just around the corner...

I was referring to the foul on Suleiman by Cuse...it just seemed like that was too early to do that. Makes sense with 4 secs or less but not sure about 9.

That was one of the best basketball games I've ever seen in my life. I thought Duke was toast when their dudes all got in foul trouble, and they would have been if there 3 pointers weren't money, because they couldn't even play token defense, and Syracuse was dunking every time. EPIC ball game.

Gonna be tough for the Hoosiers today, I have them as -9.7 point dogs with an 11% chance to win at home.

Hey, nap...just did some quick calculations today on the rest of the Hoosier season using comparative scores in conference to date with margin of victory, standard deviations (about 8.1/game) and HCA (about 2.8/game.), using a normal distribution. This gave the Hoosiers about a 44% chance of winning at Nebraska and a final league record of 7-11.

Hope I'm wrong.

I fear that's about right.

Wins vs NW (about 60%) on the road, and Neb, PSU, and IIRC OSU at home.

About 47% chance of a win vs PU at Mackey...

I have the Huskers winning 8 in conference.

Knowing the Hoosiers they'll lose to Nebraska and beat Michigan.

Call me Nappydamus ;)

The only good thing about that game was they kept playing the Connersville fight song , which is the Minnesota fight song .

That was the most predictable second half I've seen in my life.

It's not hard to see why it's so difficult to win on the road after that one. You have to be about 10 pts better than your opponent, and we weren't. It would have been nice to see Gene Steratore there, but he was in Iowa.

Tough one. The two teams are having similar, middle of the pack seasons.

Marcus Smart, Oklahoma State's star guard, will likely face disciplinary action from the university or Big 12 Conference, including a possible suspension, after going into the stands to push a Texas Tech fan Saturday night in Lubbock, Texas.

The Cowboys were trailing by two points when Smart ran back on defense during a Red Raiders fastbreak and blocked a layup by Jaye Crockett with 6.2 seconds left. Smart, who was called for a foul on the play, stumbled over a person along the baseline and fell in front of the first row of stands.

After Smart was helped to his feet, he turned toward the stands and immediately walked to a fan identified as Jeff Orr, who was obviously saying something, and pushed him with both hands to the chest. Orr stumbled backward but did not fall.

Smart was immediately escorted away by teammates but continued to point and talk back to Orr as he left the court. Smart, who had 22 points, was assessed a technical foul but was not ejected from the game, although he remained on the bench when play resumed.

Crockett, who finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds, hit both free throws to provide the final margin in a 65-61 victory for Texas Tech (12-11, 4-6 in conference). It was the fourth-consecutive loss for Oklahoma State (16-7, 4-6), which entered the game ranked No. 19.

Neither Smart, a 6-foot-4 sophomore who was a preseason All-America selection and widely considered a top-five pick in the 2014 NBA draft, nor his teammates were made available for interviews after the game.

Cowboys Coach Travis Ford was a bit evasive in his postgame interview, saying of the controversial play, “I didn't see it yet. I want to make sure I see it and see what happened. I'm still trying to figure it out.”

The Big 12 Conference reportedly is going to review the incident Sunday, when a ruling is likely on any punishment for Smart.

What do y'all think the back-story is? What did the fan say?

The video. And, not surprisingly, the jackass fan appears to have used an epithet.

The fan who Smart shoved is Jeff Orr, an air traffic controller in Waco, Texas, who travels thousands of miles each year to attend Texas Tech basketball games, according to athletic department spokesman Blayne Beal.

Smart has claimed to Oklahoma State coaches that Orr called him a racial slur, a member of the basketball program confirmed to ESPN.

After the game, Smart was "down and remorseful," the team official told ESPN, claiming that the sophomore guard "got caught up in the moment."

Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby will review the incident Sunday under the conference's sportsmanship policy, a conference official told ESPN. Bowlsby has a number of options at his disposal for Smart, from a private reprimand to a public reprimand to a suspension. Oklahoma State will have the ability to provide its side of the story.

A Big 12 official said there was a possibility a decision on Smart's punishment could be made Sunday.

The article goes on to say...

A video from a

appears to show Orr directing an obscene gesture at Texas A&M player Bryan Davis, but Beal said Sunday that the incident did not escalate.

...and...

Utah Jazz guard John Lucas III also said he recognized Orr from his time in the Big 12 playing for Baylor and Oklahoma State from 2001-2005.

Lucas sent out a couple of Tweets challenging Orr's behavior history.
