Some of these are rather embarrassing, but you asked for it! I like a lot of really bad 80's power ballads, but for the purposes of this list I ignored them.

Cheap Trick - The Flame

Billy Idol - Dancing With Myself

Genesis - That's All

Def Leppard - Photograph

Glass Tiger - Don't Forget Me

Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes

Thompson Twins - Hold Me Now

Men At Work - Overkill

Modern English - I Melt With You

Naked Eyes - Always Something There to Remind Me

Tears for Fears - Head Over Heels

OMD - If You Leave

The Pretenders - Back on the Chain Gang

The Police - Wrapped Around Your Finger

Simple Minds - Don't You Forget About Me

Steve Winwood - While You See a Chance

The Tubes - She's a Beauty

Well, I'm already over the requested ten entries, and I didn't even make it to Huey Lewis and the News...

Some of mine, off the top of my head, some of which are embarrassing and some of which (I think) hold up pretty well...not sure if they qualify though

REM—The One I Love

Smithereens—Behind a Wall of Sleep

Smithereens—Blood and Roses

Plimsouls—A Million Miles Away

Icicle Works—Life in a Northern Town

Wall of Voodoo—Mexican Radio

Go Go's—Head over Heels (told you some wouldn't hold up)

Rolling Stones—One Hit to the Body

The Police—Synchroncity II

The Motels—Suddenly Last Summer

Not to mention...

Rush—Tom Sawyer

Rush—Limelight

Rush—New World Man

Can't remember if Sussudio was in the 80s or not. Either way, it's not on the list.

I know, could've easily pulled 30, just fired off what first came in rather than ranking.

Interesting tidbit: Neil Peart's fav song around 1986 was a song called No Promises by the Australian band Icehouse. He had that song on repeat while cruising in his Porsche. Also, for anybody that doesn't know(probably not many on here), Voices Carry by Til Tuesday on my list features Aimee Mann on vocals. The Aimee Mann that does vocals on Rush's Time Stand Still. I know.....I'm Mr. obvious:) Edited by presto123

Take On Me! Love that tune. And forgot all about Jacob's Ladder, despite my mention of Huey Lewis.

Finally, many have mentioned Drive by The Cars. Still a classic; RIP Benjamin Orr.
